Sad episode from June 1992, Mark Fowler marrys Jill before she died of Aids the next day. To see the 2nd part: ua-cam.com/video/ZI5Ila_nKMo/v-deo.html If you have a specific episode you'd like me to upload please comment Due to copyright i have had to remove the theme music. Property of BBC. I claim no right and make no profit. Just for entertainment
Jeez, if Mark had called for an ambulance these days it would take 18 thousand years for the thing to turn up. Thanks tories! 😡
How the hell could a woman so close to death have the energy to go to a restaurant?🤦♂️
Phil was so lovely in the early days. Sad and beautiful storyline, Mark and Jill.
So sad mark died around 10 years after Gill. Shame he and Ruth didn't last. And sweet he told Michelle make sure he is brought home when he passed but Michelle wasn't there when he died, only Pauline and Martin were. Martin's the only Fowler left. Arthur, Mark, Pauline gone, even Martin's daughter Rebecca
Always knew Mark was married to Gill but never saw episodes, only when he was married to Ruth. Who he should have been with. Not Lisa who didn't deserve him, Mark deserved a better woman. Like how he and Michelle were really close
Jill shouldn’t have asked Mark to tell people she died from AIDS. People back then would’ve immediately assumed Mark had AIDS too.
Michelle can never put herself in other people's shoes, especially blokes. So Michelle uses her female charms on Arthur and then resents blokes for being honest about their intentions.
I can see why Mark went off and died on his own now - as he did not want to put his family through any suffering. He was always a very private man and thiinking of others.
That waiter was lovely.
Top two epidodes and short storyline in the whole history of the programme.
The way George stroked Jill's hair was so caring. Really got to me.
George was wonderful. He may have been a nancy nurse but was a tower of compassion and strength.
RIP Jill. Arthur did so well. He really came through for his kids and they made him and Pauline so very proud.
Oh that was so touching. Just beautiful and sad.
How lovely is George. An angel.
Maybe i've been in too many "lockdowns" over the pandemic.....but do people like at 3:55 (Arthur and Phil) really talk that close together?? They could almost kiss they were so close! I hope they were using breath mints. I think this was also common in filming in this era with the much narrower 4:3 aspect ratio. Now they have widescreen the actors can at least be a bit further apart.
Is it wrong?! So jealous of Jill, when she gets to kiss Mark, be near him, so sad she died! Love her aura, she was better matched to Mark then Diane was, and they were the only two people who understood each others tough times! Love the scene in the restaurant where they are all at the table, she orders the ice cream, and they all eat the same, so not to leave her feeling isolated x moving scenes for sure x
Such a lovely doc.
i love eastenders but the 80 and 90s were the best thankyou for uploading
Phil was just a Jack the lad until they turned him into a mobster
He was as good as gold in his early years on the Square. Then when Grant started going in and out of the soap they turned Phil into him.
I remember that theme tune for the BBC 9 O'Clock News. Very dramatic!
8:03 so hard to watch
That male nurse is so calm. The stark realisation of AIDS... one minute she's happy the next she's dies.
Arthur seemed to get on with the Mitchell Brothers.
This storyline was the best despite only having two days of living Jill married the man she loved Mark so inspirational ❤
Was a day and a morning really sadly
Tbh this storyline was before my time but this was amazing tbh ❤
Here is the second part to this episode ua-cam.com/video/ZI5Ila_nKMo/v-deo.html
By the way I remember Nigel was first introduced differently back in March 1992 as a wide boy and a bit of a player and quite dodgy and a wheeler dealer and a creep sleaze and he did a bit of business with Grant and sometimes with Phil but his early appearances is very similar to Barry Evans early appearances and when did Nigel gradually changed into a loveable buffoon and which month in between them exactly took away his sleazy and dodgy was it in late 1992 or early 1993 remind me again.
Corrie had the storyline with Rita and Ted around this time. Both soaps had touching scenes but Easties broke new ground with Gill’s story, harrowing yet incredibly moving and sensitively scripted and acted. 😢 💔 👏
EastEnders has often seemed more realistic and relevant to me. Corrie is too glorified and people seem to recover too quickly in it.
Susannah Dawson (Jill) was so moved by this whole storyline that she made a video about her time on EastEnders which was raised to raise HIV awareness. As a kid who saw said video in the 90s, she did a fine job.
EastEnders was still very watchable back then; I remember Mark and Gill in her flat in Tulse Hill, trying to cope with the effects of her illness. Incredibly depressing, but so well written and acted you'd sooner have it than the rubbish that the programme has become nowadays.
I know its only a show but, hospice care staff are so amazing and caring
The male nurse is so calm too. Even when Mark looked like he was about to punch him in the next part he remained calm.
Back then Phil was almost as nice as pie. What made him such a miserable bully-like old man?
Him accidentally burning someone alive in the car lot fire of '94, his alcoholism developing as a result of the car lot fire, his relapse in '96, Grant sleeping with Kathy and ruining his chances of getting back with Ben, Kathy and Ben leaving for south Africa, Lisa's miscarriage, his fallout with Peggy in '99, and Ricky calling Phil out for his bullcrap just before leaving in '00. All that happened within the space of 6 years. Ricky's leaving was the final straw. After that, he just snapped. To be fair, Phil was only a bully to people who had it coming or who crossed him first, but yh he definitely became colder by April 2000.
@@hussainmartins5985 well you will find out why Phil was a bully in a flashback episode later this year
@@hussainmartins5985 I thought Grant burnt the car lot or didn't try to burn the Vic?
Somebody so Ill and dying thats a lot to be said 💕💕
Probably one of the first programs where it focuses on a woman suffering with AIDS. So often before it was to do with gay men suffering with it. This goes to show that AIDS can harm all.
I wonder if Sharon ever knew Mark had AIDS
Who's Rachael... and as we know we also see Tucker Jenkins and Suzanne Ross talking to each other.
Rachel was the Michelle's friend and owned the house that Michelle lived in, she later sold it to Mark and his wife Ruth.
Teggs went to live with Tucker and Suzanne while Fiona Wilson lived across the street.
@@passionfruit7276 indeed... Aiden I think was Sean Maguire's name on EastEnders. Had an Irish accent. Plus yes Grange Hill and EastEnders often have things in common. And The Bill of course. Todd Carty did the full swing. Tucker in GH, Mark in EE, and evil PC Kent in the Bill.
@@MySparkles88 good looking too I must admit. Very well presented! Also I often think Mark could be a little pushy at times although he meant well of course.
At first I thought Michelle was a bloke
So moving
