On my way to Jeep Dealer a drive cut me off with no regard for my life, I am finding out there are a number of people in the El paso area who do not have respect for motorcycle riders.

Picked up a Tiger 850 Sport as my secondary bike.
Welcome to ownership of a Tiger 900. Regard your mirrors - recommend you stay with the present set up and take some time learning the new location. If you do an off road course you will spend time standing up and having the mirrors high is beneficial. I am also in the process of going to after market mirrors - getting the Doubletake mirrors adventure kit. More robust if you lay the bike down plus can fold out of the way if you need. I also prefer the coverage over the stock which are not bad. I rode to Alaska from Colorado and back last summer and was getting over 250 miles between tank fills and never put in more than 18 liters (4.75 US gal)- capacity is 20 liters (5.28 US gallons for my bike). Enjoy the ride.
I decided to keep current mirrors and leave them the way they are. This is different riding than a Harley. And for me, more fun.

72...you're a puppy! In September I and a friend and his son rented a bike in Italy and did the Dolomites in Italy and up into Switzerland.....and I'm 80

is there a microphone inside the helmet whose output is being piped to the chin mounted POV camera (GoPro ?). If so- is it covered via some kind of 'dead cat' noise suppressor etc?
Yes I have a microphone inside the helmet. I taped it in place to the front inside and just a bit to the right side of my mouth. I also put a Dead Cat over the mic to reduce wind noise. I then ran the mic cable to the outside of the the helmet and plugged it into a GoPro Mic adapter. Then the adapter plugs into the go pro. NOTE: I am thinking of changing to DJI action 5 cameras because the GoPros have been unreliable. They freeze or turn off and in some cases just won't turn on. They are not old cameras either.

@@royupton2031 - I still have my 2018 Harley Davidson Fat Bob FXFBS. I like it, but now at age 73 it's a bit too heavy for me. I consider the Tiger a down size. No chrome on my HD. It's all black.

I just took it on it's first long ride Texas to CA. One change/addition I would make - a Motorcycle Seat Cushion. The Tiger seat is not bad on short rides. But try sitting on it for 4 hours. Needs more cush.
How U lk ur Tiger since u hav owned it I had the same exact bike. I noticed u still hav the stock seat. I changed to a more comfortable Sargent seat it helped me That’s just my Preference anyway Stay Safe & Hav Fun✌️
I'm really liking this Motorcycle. It's so much more agile than my Harley Davidson fat Bob FXFBS. I just had to sell my Harley. I'm gonna take this motorcycle on a trip from Texas to California real soon

Quick one for you, What SD cards are you using in the 2 7 black and the 2 8 black (disregarding the one that does whatever it feels like)?
I use SanDisk Extreme Plus 256 GB and Lexar 256 GB cards
@@frankmoralesiii6908 Ahh dang cant see and issue with those, Have you tried reaching out to GoPro, I have had 5's 7's 9's and now an 11. the 7 never had any issues, (other then heat down here is Australia) would recommend a GoPro 9 or 11 black with the sandisk cards I have sandisk extreme 400gb cards and never had an issue, but also bought a insta360 x3 recently and it kicks ass compared to just the normal action cameras.

One of the things I learned from watching Doodle is that I was not looking at all of my options. I like the ADV style of bike and had an Africa Twin for a little over a year, the Triumph Tigers are a better fit for me. Thanks Doodle!

I know everyone on here is going to tell you how silly it was to put tyre shine on, but hey, we are all human. I do want to warn you that simply washing your tyres won't fully fix it. Unfortunately, tyre shine is silicone, and the silicone will soak into the rubber. Your only fix is new tyres. Sorry to tell you that, but I would rather you were safe. There are quite a few people that have done this and found out the hard way. There are videos on UA-cam of others warning about it, and those videos have all said the same. The tyres need to go. Stay safe, buddy.
Thanks for the input. I scrubbed the heck out of the tires with a stiff brush, very hot water mixed with dawn soap and vinegar. I did this twice. Once the tires were dry I put on all my safety gear and I took the bike to a large empty parking lot so I could make some hard right and left turns. Looks like my cleaning worked because the bike did not slip out from under me. The tires gripped the tarmac.

omg you put tire shine on your tires!!!!! just clean the tires with soap and water! never put tire shine. you lean on a bike unlike a car. you are gunna hit the slick part of the tire. how did you not know that?
Yep. I had a senior moment. I've been riding that motorcycle since 2018 washed it with soap and water only. I can't explain this one stupid move I made.

@@frankmoralesiii6908 you gotta be careful when the roads are wet. Now with 114 and bigger engines. People are going to spin tires. If you don’t have the experience like racing in the dirt on dirt bikes. It will take the back tire out from under you.
I have been riding the FXFBS since 2018. That particular corner I have taken a lot as it is down the street from my home. I don't know what I was thinking but I put Hot Shine Tire Coating on the tires. I attribute the bike sliding because of the Hot Shine Tire Coating. What the H was I thinking.@@zarfx4127

Triumph's marketing plan trapped one more.
I truly do not consider marketing plans. If I did, I would have picked the Kawasaki versus. At age 72, I felt the need to downsize from my 2018 Harley Davidson Fat Bob FXFBS (1st and only Harley ever owned). I went into a dealership sat on several different motorcycle brands test road them. Triumph fit me best.
@@frankmoralesiii6908 , doodle marketed for triumph. That is why she is called an influencer. The Versys is the more reliable choice but has zero off road potential. Did you get electronic cruise control? That does make the Triumph a better touring bike IMO. We are constantly marketed to. Enjoy your new ride.

Nice bike for sure. I almost bought a Tiger 660 in the same blue yesterday. The sales men actually talked me down and suggested I schedule a test drive 1st before committing to it.
