Not silly! Here I’m using a linen/cotton blend. I would also suggest 100% cotton, linen, Kona, muslin or light denims. Every person prefers different fabrics depending on what you’re embroidering so you should experiment with what works best for you and your style!

Hi. I apologize if this is a silly/stupid question; what is embroidery fabric called? I'm very new to embroidery but I'm practicing with some beginner kits. The fabric is so thick and canvas like.

The light green thread against the light fabric makes it difficult to see your finished stitches on my tablet. However, your emphasis on leaving a loop so you can see the center of the line where you bring up the needle is easy to see and very helpful. Thank you.
