The console i played the most growing up was a tie between n64 and ps2 btw.

There's another star in wet dry town btw, you have to jump in front of 5 of the doors in the town to uncover 5 secrets. One of the bobombs tells you to not make noise in front of the houses, that's how you're supposed to figure that out Also you had the right idea at 33:41, you have to punch the smaller goombas into the big one to damage it. It's a very tricky boss battle but it's definitely worth it because you get a red star for beating it

Dunno if you know, but the game has a few "personalization" values. Which can change up some textures, warps, your health regen, etc. Whenever you hear a jingle when going through a door and hear that weird jingle, it means the value has changed. There is also a random chance for any coin to be silver. If picked up this one will also change the randomization Value. Note that some values can crash your game.
