Thanks bud! It was definitely a faster course. The lighting was just a camera issue. I'm currently running Tusk T35 tires and they work well although a lot of guys run sand tires.

Hey, I believe those numbers are constant power ratings and they are very conservative, they can take much more power in bursts. I've seen them pushed to 35kw+. At 30kw it's comparable to a 250f.

@@electronracer Thanks for replying. I do have another question. I'm planning on using a votol Em260sgtp since I would like to be able to run the motor at 30 kW. Do you know what kind of electric thottles are compatible with votol controllers. What kind of throttle do you have?

Thanks! There were 20 in this race. There were a few other conversions and a bunch of ultra bees plus a few smaller bikes mixed in.

12-50 gearing and a Hirschmann e-throttle

@electronracer did you experiment with other gearing and throttles ? I am on the fence with spending 170€ for a Stark Varg throttle. Is 12/50 enough top end for MX tracks or do you go higher for those ?

Is it a full size bike? It will be underpowered with that setup.

It's not quite as powerful as a gas bike but it's easy to ride. The motor is a QS138 70H V3

Thanks man! Yeah it is a nice track. The sand does kill the batteries fast but I'm used to that, everywhere is sandy down here lol. I believe it was 2 custom conversions (finished 1 and 2!), about 10-12 Vargs, a bunch of Sur Ron Ultra Bees and few Sur Ron Light Bees & Talarias.

It's a blast! I've always run around that much power, it works well and doesn't get too hot. Really not sure about total hours, maybe 40 or so.

Thanks man! Yeah my motor definitely gets hot. I'm running 20kw. If I went any higher it might get too hot. I also go through gaskets occasionally. My 3D printed TPU gaskets seem to hold up better than stock.

12kw-16kw is really all that's needed for an electric dirtbike, they're pretty much unmanageable at higher outputs, my bike is 10hp, & puts down 371ft lbs of torque, & a 0-60 in a hair over 4 seconds. 😂 I got a Rwarr Mantis, so I can ride it legally on the road, it comes with a M.O.T & vin to be registered in all 50 states.

It is very close to being done, just have to wait on battery. I put a battery from one of my other bikes in it and am running 4kw @ 48v, but the new battery (72v 40ah) will be able to support 25kw (33hp)

That's hard track riding. Trail riding it can go much longer. But yeah the range isn't quite there yet.

@@electronracer I only ride MX. One day though and unlike some people I'm very keen to be able to ride EV when the right bike comes out! For now though, I'll stick to my YZs a tad longer.

Hey! A conversion could cost as little as about $3000, but for these races you would need several batteries which adds cost.

Average bikes at these races are around $10k and a lot of time doing maintenance. Stark Varg is $13k, but about the same after a year since way less maintenance

Yes but the camera died before the end. It was like 1.5 hours total. It took a battery per lap.

There are a bunch of groups that started before us and after us. They run a ton of classes at the same time.

It's a full size MX bike. An RM125.

@@electronracer I was going to use a DRZ for my build but I just picked up an YZ85 roller. I 3D printed the QS138 and looks like its going to hang out by the foot peg a little but I'm gonna see how it turns out.

It's 42ah 72v and it's about 9" square. Is yours using 21700 cells?

They are fun bikes but I don't miss racing against full size bikes. Its small size and suspension are just not too much of a disadvantage.
