He’s preaching about a “hippy Jesus” that doesn’t call his followers to act righteously. This is a false gospel and should be rejected.

Yes, Amen to all of this! But this beautiful truth is merely half the gospel ! If we leave our message as heralds of the the gospel at “Jesus died because he love you” we have left out the primary and leading reason He gave his life as a sacrificial savior. He did what he did to MAGNIFY THE FATHER! TO DO THE FATHERS WILL. Look at what Jesus talks about and the emphasis he puts in the gospels. It’s on doing the Father’s will. Glorifying the father through his sacrifice. Christ emphasis is more on how much he loves the Father than it is on how much he loves humanity. A “me” centered gospel will keep our attention on us. A God centered gospel will keep the attention and affection directly where it deserves to be, on The Father.

Imagine if Jesus Christ was actually divine and he saw the future and he realized how fucked up it was so instead of being crucified on the cross he took the spear of destiny and started fighting the Romans.
