The entire point of the Capo is not to just change the pitch of the fretted notes but also the open notes. So this wouldn't work if the song transposed a C to a D in a C Shape and then required you to pick the open strings in that new D chord.

A capo can also be used for sight reading standard notation sheet music in a higher pitch. It also gives a different different flavour to the sound.

Capo isn’t necessarily used for easy transposition, it’s used because some open chords add more colors to the song, and bar chords just don’t have the same quality. The key of E for example has a lot of bright open chords that we can use such as Bsus or Cadd9. With capo, we can play those chord shapes in different keys while retaining the brightness of those chord shapes. Also, capo is king for open tuning!

Check the Beatles out. Many of their songs have open rhythm "chords" E major then A minor with a slight open Gish strum honoring rhymes but not so perfect progression

Bullshit. A capo can alter everything tonally. I've been 'attempting' to play since 1967 and am well capable of playing any bar chord but that is not the point, nor is playing a D instead of your capoed C. Nuance is not your strong point

People do not use a capo to just play chords. They use it to play picking patterns which would be impossible without a cappo

That has nothing to do with why most people use a capo. Chord voicing, picking pattern, avoiding certain barre chords, these are typically the reasons a capo is used. Your pitching a “solution” for a problem that doesn’t exist

This is applicable in all progressional things of life. Keeping the rhythm (discipline) going and the perfection (technique) will come with time. Chasing perfection slows your rhythm which wastes time
