Riding Thomaston Dam, CT Upper trails on a Honda CRF 450 as a beginner. The bike is way too heavy and powerful for this kind of riding at my skill level. I made it through, but not very smoothly. Woah, is this trails or some race?
@@avinashr9649 not a race, but everyone think it is :)
Where is that parking lot? I used to ride the trail from nanticoke to Mocanaqua but they have been taken over by industry. It was good times! Thanks for the video!
here's the link to the parking lot. To ride it now cost $40, unforunately maps.app.goo.gl/J89v3MV1agtrXJXR8
Thanks for sharing! I'm a new rider too and I was wondering how tough Thomaston was. This was very informative for me! You are a better rider than you give yourself credit for.
Thank you for your kind words! It is tough, but doable and is very good for skill development. You won't regret going there
@5:00 weren't those oncoming riders going the wrong way on the one-way trails?
No, not really. The trail system is built around one main road, which is two-way. Single track trails shoot off it up the hill (Uppers) and towards the river (Lowers). They were on the main road, so it is good
Thanks for posting.... Minute 14 "The Wall" 1.5 hour wait to get my turn on the wall. Restarting in the middle had to be tough!... Got the Sticker.
Yes thanks for posting! Yes the traffic jam at the wall was wild lol My group waited over an hour. But, yes we got the sticker too! Great event, looking forward to next year.
he'll yeah, the wall was fine.......the wait tho....but still loved the route
I didn't that was "the wall" that was supposed to be in the "hard" tracks? Luckily I only had about a 30 minute wait and made it up in one shot only crf250l.
That was definitely one deep creek crossing! We continued on to the impossible climbs. They were quite the struggle, dropped my bike numerous times, but we got through it.
@@roberthimes4438you are a trooper! We decided not to
good work , nice comments
A bike in motion stays in motion!
You are so right! I'm lacking skills, still learning.
excellent view of a wind shield
yeah, I'm FortNine, that's for sure...
Thanks for posting this I am hoping to go this year! I have a klr 650 is this the hardest route for big bikes or do they have a harder route?
This was a mix of enduro and explorer routes. This yer there will be an easy Explorer route and harder enduro route. On a KLR with some skills should be pretty doable and they usually run in parallel so we switched from hard to easier in the middle
Klr I would do the hardest. There are bypasses for the hero sections
Where are these trails Located ?
it is Brendan T Byrne forest
Is this considered the adventure ride or the dual sport ride that they put on ?
That is the A ride, which will be called "dual sport" this year (I think).
That’s the easy trail?
yeah. Combination of greens and blues, to be exact. As easy as they come at Mountain Creek
Not only did you find rocks, you found small ponds all over!
They found me, to be precise. Together with a tiny stick at the very end, that sent my rear wheel in front of the front wheel…
Yeah lost rocks in Jersey and lots of rain before Christmas! Looks like some good trails!
These are not even real trails: these are fire roads, but I am still struggling with them...
You are a trooper! Not many people would continue the ride after a spill like that. Awesome video.
Peer pressure and I was absolutely unharmed: not even the smallest bruise!
Top of the world is a trail that actually goes down from the " bare rock" area on top. We struggled to find it but ultimately did.
The map they provide is totally useless somehow. It does start make sense after awhile, though
My thoughts exactly lok
Thank you for uploading this!. I have been contemplating bringing my Tenere 700 here, as it is only about 1.5 hours from me.
It is pretty rocky, especially on the top, but doable on a bigger bike.
He should be wearing scuba suit
yeah. Lesson learned. We will next time!
great ending lol
LOL
This place looks interesting! Someone had told me about an off road park near North American Warhorse.
It is interesting. Very rocky, which is expected. There is a hole bunch of bike only trails, but we could not locate ourselves on the lousy map they provide, so we did not find them :)
They just keep getting better! Yu really caught it all1 Again, thanks for posting. Kudos on that water crossing near the end! He was eyeballing that one pretty good and rightfully so!
Glad you liked it. I will be back next year, hopefully with more skills!
Loved your video man! Thank you so much for sharing. It was a sweet event.
Yes it was! Thank you, Michael!
I loved this route! muddy as hell. i was out there on a black Tiger 1200 rally pro
I was considering taking the Tiger 900. Glad I did not. Even on the small bike this was a bit over my head...
@@michaelvinogradov8864 the rain definitely didn’t make it any easier
@@KamikazeJoeNYC But significantly more interesting, looking back :)
Great video - I'm doing section 3 this weekend with my brothers.
Thank you! After recent rain it might be a little more washed out, but it is a great ride! Enjoy
Nice video! Is there any map you can share for this, or is this part of the BDR?
Thanks! This is not BDR, but it is close to October Mountain area. If you give me a way (email) to share them...
Nice video. Keep them coming!
Thank you Mike! Appreciate your kind words
Lol that fall off of the bridge was spectacular!!
Thank you! I'm trying my best :D
Good footage. Wonder how was the Tiger's triple doing on the trail comparing to KTM's twin?
Thanks! I think that the KTM is better suited for this kind of terrain. It feels like it has more torque available down low. That said - Tiger did pretty well. Here's another ride in similar terrain, if you interested: ua-cam.com/video/ttFXpxdnavo/v-deo.html
Just did this in the rain left on the 29th and got back on the 2nd for my 60th birthday my 2016 CRF1000 loves this stuff...
It is a great ride: no doubt about it
👌🏽 Good effort. Try standing up more and steer with pegs in 2nd gear.
Thanks! That is what I am trying to do now: still very new to this. This is my first year riding off-road
@@michaelvinogradov8864 yea mine too… it’s a big bike but I’m learning. Cao
Why? But, just why would you include music? 🤣
Because I don't know how to make videos :(
@@michaelvinogradov8864 Jeje. You know how to make videos and to embed music on them 😀But for motorcycle lovers, the engine sound it's best music 👌 Wonderful bike and trails.
Thanks for the ride along. Seems like a good time.
Thank you! It was indeed great ride
PLEASE CUT THE SOUND .
next time I'll do better, promise
Motorensound wäre cooler als dieser " lästiger " musiksound . Schade
yep, I know that now..
Engine sound not music.
I'm just learning to make videos. It is not easy to make a good video...
@@michaelvinogradov8864 Fair point, but your video looks great, and you had good audio to start. Not sure why you dubbed it over with run of the mill open source music files.
I blame it on inexperience, and thanks for the input: I do appreciate it!
Love these trails.
Where did you go into Colliers Mills from, High Bridge rd by the voc school?
I just set Reed road in the google maps. Wasn't really following the street names, sorry
@@michaelvinogradov8864 OK. Go about 5 more miles east on 571 and High Bridge is a dirt road on the right. Takes you to a huge lake, Success Lake.
@@PineyRider Thanks! Will check that out!
@@michaelvinogradov8864There is yellow "private road" sign on top of High Bridge rd sign, disregard. It's a public thoroughfare, all Colliers Mill.
