The Paul Elliott Story - A Man Called Jamaica
Interesting listening. Just a thought. Have you tried to secure all of the Charlton Live podcasts and the ones broadcast on Millenium Radio before that? All of them would make a great audio collection of the seasons week in and week out from a fans perspective for future generations to listen back on.
The Iceman Cometh! Stupendous Thordarson rocket....come on you Rip-roaring Potters!
1989 not 1889 in the title
Typo thanks
Decent footage for the 1880s
Eamon Dunphy , Millwall sub, comes on at 26.52. Played for Ireland. Later played for Charlton. Wrote the excellent book Its only a game - a diary of his last season with Millwall. Journalist and broadcaster. Ray Crawford had won the First Division title with Ipswich - managed by Alf Ramsey.
Didn’t realise they had color tv in 1888
Willo ❤
Charlton Museum, Thanks for comprehensive coverage of Charlton's trip to Ewood Park in 2003. Excellent game enhanced by the Sky Sports treatment! Thanks for your focus of Charlton on this fine channel!
Ronaldo🐐
I’m a Sunderland fan and I’ve never seen these highlights before
My first ever game!
Stephen Wright never recovered from that tackle at 4:23
As a Sunderland fan I remember this game well. We’d won the championship comfortably in 2004-05. This was then our opening game of 2005-06. I remember being shocked at how out of our depth we looked, so totally nervous and uncomfortable on the ball. We looked like a different team from the one that had won the league the season before. I knew immediately that it wasn’t a blip, that we were in for a long, miserable season
Excellent, finally getting to see the whole match after 37 years. I must have watched the highlights hundreds of times! ⚽️
As a Sunderland fan I remember this game
T'was a jolly good day for a kickabout old boy!
Bigger than Wembley❤
The cause of Charltons demise can be summed up in Two words. ROLAND DUCHALET. For FORTEEN years he systematically ran the club into the ground. Little or NO Investment. Crap third rate players who would not make the bench of a sunday league team and clueless managers.
Love Ray! Forever a Blue legend!!
David Beckham Last old trafford goal
Mike Flanagan might disagree,!wish I could revisit that moment
The good old sky sports news with Jeff Stelling
5-0 Charlton Athletic!. From Joe. X
And David Prutton went on to join Sky Sports as the presenter of EFL games a few short years later.
The following season
When football was MAGIC ✨✨✨
Not many beat Big Norm.
Goo arrrnnn you Mighty Potters!
❤❤❤❤❤ That kit
COYL
Chelsea fans = Dirty
Andy Hunts last touch in football, good servant for us.
This is terrible, football channel banging on about racism, stop banging on about it. From a Charlton Fan
They're not banging on lol. Its a single archive video about something that happened once. Relax
Did Gary really refer to Charlton as the Robins? Embarrassing
Many Charlton fans in the home ends as well!
The Welling match was his only match, well past his best by then.
In the tunnel, Kishishev, who was Berbatov's national team teammate, called Berbatov "average" when a Charlton teammate asked him about Berbatov. So, Berbatov responded with a couple of goals.
Start of the end because of that w**ker Dowie
1:15:04 unbelievable goal.
"Footballers make sacrifices for us, the fans." What planet is this guy on. Your average footballer is an over paid, under worked, pampered wannabe.
Lennie was a revolutionary 👊
And that’s a tune
The memories of being in the away end that day still haunt me, 19 years on 🔴🔵 🦅
This was my first ever Newcastle match, standing in the gallowgate bend with my dad.
Was there for this match. First one in over 2 years!
1:01:34 Surprising they allowed that to be said live on air.
Is there any footage of this historic match, does anyone know?
We have not been able to source any but if the news cameras were there before the game it is a possibility. Of course the recording would then have to have been saved and not overwritten.
Thanks for the reply. An uncle of mine attended as a neutral and filled my young head with tales of the tension.
Nice goal by Leaburn.
Proper Chelsea fans before sugar daddy
It is insane how good we were in 2011/12
