Gospel of John: Healing of the Blind Man
I was not aware that Yahweh was the Son of God, Jesus Christ, yet it makes perfect sense because the absolute transcendent nature of the Father should in theory preclude His making a particular appearance as a finite being, a property manifest in the person of the Son. Furthermore, if one is looking for a way to understand the apparently supernatural bodily acts of Jesus Christ during his fully human incarnation as a man, such as apparent teleportation, we need only refer to the fact that He was ministered to by angels, as it says in Matthew after his temptation in the desert. The intervention of the angelic powers fully explains the mechanism of these bodily deeds without the need to resort to some sort of theory that Jesus was not a fully normal, mortal human being prior to His resurrection. In fact, the Scriptures bear witness to the teleportation of a prophet from Israel to Babylon by means of an angel, and there is in the New Testament the telportation of the Apostle Philip, a mortal man.
I think that it's a mistake to say that, if the Jews had accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah then he would have been and remained only a tribal saviour. The prophets say explicitly that the one whom they expect will be a light to the Gentile nations as well, and one cannot say that Christ's incarnation was for the reconciliation of all of creation to God, yet might have been potentially limited to a handful of Hebrews had things gone differently. More likely, the providential rejection of Christ as Messiah by the Jews allowed Gentiles to participate on the same level as "God's Chosen People," without reference to their historical position as outsiders to God's temple.
In the New Testament there are several references to meat sacrificed to idols. As a matter of fact, pagan temples functioned in a manner analogous to a restaurant. Kind of like dinner and a show. The ancient Hebrews in the Scriptures desired to sacrifice regardless of which god to whom it was offered, which was a basic issue that the prophets condemned. So sacrificing animals was an integral part of the practice of partying, and it integrated both slaughter and cooking, two major chores requiring skill and facilities. And in pagan temples the partying was of a pornogrphic variety, kind of like going to Hooters with benefits. That's what God was competing with, and as in so many other cases of the Law, He condescend to human weakness, allowing a limited type of family friendly partying aimed at rewarding people for true worship. But they were never really content with that, and so they turned to idols in order to satisfy their basest passions at the expense of their relationship to God .
There was also the Ecumenical Council of Constantinople of 1484. This condemned and corrected the false Council (described as a "meeting in Florence") of 1438-9 and all the Romanist errors to date. All 4 Patriarchs attended the Council in person. This condemned Romanist Papist heresiarchical supremacism, the Filioque, Azymitism (unleavened bread), and Purgatory, inter alia.
thank you for the sermon. glory to the One God now and forever!
With all this said, where do I look for the correct orthodox opinion on Vatican 2? It's clearly completely mixed lol it doesn't matter for going to Church, but you also can't sit and say it doesn't matter at all. Seems like the absolute relativism of all religions.
Met. Jonah is a treasure. Just for being part of the reconcilliation of ROCOR and OCA. The younger folks and newbies dont remember how it was.
Anselm of Canterbury was a Romanist post-Schism heretic, therefore outside the Church. There are no saints outside the only True Church.
I profoundly enjoy these videos. Orthodoxy in America is a hidden treasure. 🔥☦️☦️☦️🔥
Thank you for guiding us! Thank you for the thoughtful reflection and guidance on this essential Christian practice!

I wish that there was more content on Monasticism in long form like this. Any chance that could happen? I'm sure you're all very busy, however. Thanks!
So everyone here would view a neighborhood event of superhero costumes and candy as demonic? Even though nobody is participating in this holiday in their heart the way it’s intended? That seems like worship via external action. That’s Protestantism to me. Granted our parish did our own thing and no kids wore demonic costumes.
Thank you sir
Watching the channel harmony led me here. ❤
Thank you father
Fabulous....
Thank you
I just subscribed to your channel because I think I'm onto something here... your messages are right on point, right on time, and in the middle of a whole lotta strange coincidences right now ✨ Greetings from Alaska 🙋♀🐋🦅 your church is not far from what's left of family I tried to connect to a long long time ago... I found this bc I was looking for a convent haha no kidding, and I don't relate to Catholic and Buddhist ones want money besides I don't quite fit there either and as it turns out I found the Spruce Island one while searching and its not too far from where I am right now (near Glacier Bay Park) and the more I look the more excited I am that there's some place I might go to dedicate to fasting and prayer (if the other folks would have me) but already I'm living like they are (out in the bush, off the land & fishing, getting around the ice in winter in skiffs) then I did more searching and found the history of the Orthodox Church and much of what I found led me back to too many similarities with my own ancestry which I found and carried since very young (the relatives didn't know, I dug up the history over the years & re-connected them with our Christian history, 500 years worth) meanwhile Ive been the outcast all my life and there's too much more I really need to write about bc my poor old dad that I never got to spend time with really dedicated my life to God when I was born because he was terrified of having brought me into the world, and so guess what? God ALWAYS KEEPS HIS END OF THE DEAL. 🌈😊 6 years I been living here with an alcoholic man who saved my life -- no relationship -- I just needed safety -- but frustrated here.... I need true space to focus on God! ❤🔥
I feel so blessed to meet metropolitan Jonah, this man radiates grace and holiness and it is infectious.
I keep reading and hearing things like embrace orthodoxy, accept orthodoxy, baptised into orthodoxy. This is wrong, for it is only Jesus we should accept, Jesus we should embrace and into Jesus we should be baptised.
