Super Freya! growing up and getting stronger and stronger!
Tennessee Walker. Huge front action (stretchies) and screwed up piaffe behind. Stretchies, stretchies, stretchies…. Brought to you by Ed Gal and other Dutch Harness Horse people. Head tied down, legs up up up in the front for amateur audiences.
Danke ❤
That's one talented horse!
Wonderful✨😍
Great Hors 🐎
The father of my beautiful gelding 😍😍☹️
great~!!!
Love the horse and rider but "dat music doe!" 😝
Best Dressage stallion ever to have stood in the Netherlands, ever. A Trakehner bred in Germany by Marika Werner, by Kostolany out of elite mare Gondola II. Sadly six days after this video he died of a ruptured heart. Who knows if they had let him retire without all this hectic "show" and he travelled by air less in his life he might have lived longer. Gribaldi stamped the Dutch horses with his incredible easy character particularly, refinement and of course his colour.
Yes, I agree with you. I heard many people say that the hectic lifestyle Gribaldi led and in particular this final show with all the lights and sounds (which is not natural) hastened his demise and probably put extra strain on his heart but who knows. We are all privileged to have been able to witness his majesty, beauty and talent.
Trakehner front leg action, very different from the carriage horse type gaits currently in vogue. Gribaldi floats, he doesn’t stomp.
@@millsixstudios The very heavy use of TB in warmblood breeding means they haven't "stomped" since about the late 1980s. A much rounder leg is in vogue, this you get with that cross, the TB being very stiff and straight in front, the carriage with more knee. Trakehner (TK) has been used in place of or due to the shortage of any decent TBs on occation in various warmblood stud books. The movement has traditionaly been stiff and straight infront just as the TB however since breeding focused more on performance in recent times this has changed somewhat. There was a time when 87% of all stallions used in TK breeding were in fact TBs. Gribaldi had this modern warmblood movement rather than the typical TK movement of a TB.
@@equestanton1017 Gribaldi has 72.66% Trakehner blood and 27,34 % thoroughbred. He embodies the classical, floating Trakehner movement, rather than the stomping (“round” as you say) carriage front action of the Dutch Warmblood/Dutch Carriage Horse and the other carriage/coach-type warmbloods (Holsteins, Oldenburgs, Hanoverians). With Gribaldi, the Dutch breeders added an invaluable asset to their open stud book. A doubtless testimony to the continuing significance of the #Trakehner breed as world-class sport horses.
@@millsixstudios round movement or position of the front leg is not stomping, it's the desired dressage movement today. Edward Gal who rode Gribaldi unfortunately produced a very choppy tense stomping action from him but this was purely his training methods. Much greater softness and elastic swing is looked for now. The only stomping breeds are the PREs who have a very short stride and high knee action. There is an attempt at producing a modern sport horse version of PRE but it hasn't exactly materialised yet. Trakehners despite one or two notable modern stallions have a way to go in uniformity of good movement across the population as the stiff straight movement hasn't disappeared. They are a work in progress till they are as uniformly good as warmbloods. In general floating movement is not considered ideal as it's difficult to collect, rather a high degree of suspension and joint flexibility and elasticity is looked for. Carriage horses brought this in spades they were indispensable in producing top class modern sport horses, for dressage they gave the stunning big fronts and hind power and drive for jumping they gave power in the hinds too. TB and to a lesser extent Trk gave refinement and a more open stride, but you still need sufficient knee or the leg becomes straight again and that stilted straight peg leg in front of the TB is not desired. Somewhere inbetween. For my money the Trk doesn't have the breadth and depth of good genetics across the board that the warmblood has. Thats why they make good crosses with warmbloods to diversify the WB. The influence of Gribaldi in his day was important particularly for the Dutch WB but no more so than many other key stallions in the development of the Warmblood in the past.
Edward looks like he is continually trying to stop Toto from rolling under. More tricks.
he rides him correctly and many should follow his example rather than trying to subdue their horses by force
One very special horse that has made history. Truly beautiful, its like he floats across the sand, just gorgeous.
that extended trot at 2:43 was gorgeous
so glad to hear she is enjoying her later years! She is a classic!
I have the mare Colimbria. She is living out her years in my care in Minden Nv.
He was so so much more gorgeous than any of his progeny. bless him.
*is not it's
Maybe she's not really right, but it's not completely wrong so it's definitly not the funniest thing. You ever had a look at the neck of the horse? It's obiously not the highest point. The horse it's amazing, but the pirouette was really much too big and irregular. Say someone it's crap what he/she say, although you are talking shit. Not nice.
Oh just go and fuck yourself! Being you must be so sad! You dont even deserve an answer so goodbye
i just saw a video of painted black and couldn't help but wonder if all three were related- this answered my question. all 3 phenomenal and GORGEOUS TO BOOT!
I think he was beautiful. RIP Gribaldi
Are u serious? who are you to say that edward gal is no good?? so....what u are saying is that one of the best riders in the world has no idea of rhythm and disturbs the horse movements... i'd like to see YOU riding!!
Er ist ein wunderschönes Pferd. Schade, dass er tot ist.
Zalona is now owned by Debbie Knofler and is being shown in California and doing well!
What an absolutely lovely mare! Will you be showing her in California at the 2012 shows?
i love this horse... but now...?! under matthias a. rath you will never see a great show like this... edward, totilas is your horse !!!
we have an gribaldi mare on our stable (:
@548401 His aorta (biggest and most important vein ^^) got teared
@GLoriacidable that's probably the funniest thing I've read in a loooong time on here.
Sandy, Is this mare started under saddle yet?..
Gribaldi and his progeny are not easy horses to ride. Before you criticise you should actually sit on one. My trainer has one and I have only sat on him in walk but it was very very different from any other horse I'd ever ridden. Edward Gal is the best!
Often, the best horses are not easy to ride. I have a son of Bretton Woods and I have never felt the sheer power of a horse like him before and that is just in walk! I never underestimate the skills required to ride talented horses as they all possess an extra something which always makes them special.
I think you are entirely correct. Looking at this horse and his concentration, I think you'd have to be so precise, secure, and small in your cues because this is exactly the type of horse that would WAY OVER-RESPOND. I thought that was beautifully ridden. That horse had huge concentration, and a pretty quiet tail... That says a lot.
maybe a great rider ,but not the greatest..why the neck is not the highest point.don't get it
edward gal is a great rider ♥
PARECE UMA NUVEM FLUTUANDO .MAGNIFICO
@548401 He passed away from a heart problem, I believe it was a hole.
Beautiful. You can hear the announcer's voice crack as he introduces Stacy reason for doing this amazing competition. I sit here with tears for her strength and courage, for the song and what her Dad meant to her. Just Beautiful! ! Thanks for posting this and reminding us to find our hidden talent, no matter what we may think our weaknesses may be. This girl is truly a horse whisperer. And to think, this wasn't even her horse. She was training it for someone else. Beautiful. Big hugs.
RIP
He passed away a very short time after this event....
Awe her whinny... I love it
oh my god. how does hse do it! it must all be in the legs??? so brilliant. thanks so much for sharing!!!
Only awsome! More through the body isnt possible !! Suppleness, out and inner Balance, connection, perfect transissions, always in front of the rider !!! Both could move over the ocean - Breathless - great performance.
@bbwf0219 Edward Gal ;)
@polobiest if he doesn't like it, he wouldn't do it! Totilas likes it I think.
the best
This is amazing and especially touch my soul after just loosing my Dad! Amazing Miss Stacey I'm proud for you! Signed, A Daddys girl myself too!
