The town's origins are closely tied to its strategic military importance. Vaxholm Fortress, built in the 1540s by King Gustav Vasa, was established to defend Stockholm from naval attacks. Over the centuries, the fortress was expanded and fortified, playing a significant role in Sweden's defense.
Vaxholm itself began to develop around the fortress, and by the 19th century, it had become a popular summer destination for Stockholm's residents. I;ve visited Vigeland's Park 2 times. It is a moving experience to see humanity in so many stages of life and situations, all done masterfully
Nice and we agree, the statues in Vigeland Park in Oslo, created by Gustav Vigeland, are naked to express universal and timeless themes. Vigeland chose to depict his sculptures naked to focus on the natural form and movement of the human body, without the distraction of clothing or specific time-related details. The nudity also symbolizes human vulnerability and openness, allowing for a direct and unadulterated depiction of human emotions and relationships. This artistic choice enhances the sculptures' emotional and existential messages, making them more universal and relatable.

@@SwedishSolesAdventures I have friends who once lived in Stockholm, three years working for Ericsson, the people are cold, personalistic, not even the greeting, beautiful city with gardens, clean, but cold atmosphere, the few Latinos who met Cubans, Colombians, Argentines had as their center meeting with Mexicans, for the cuisine, atmosphere, tequila, tacos 🌮 music, that is why I am not attracted to visiting the Nordic countries, it all depends on tastes, greetings from Mexico!
