I went there and bought tickets for five, expecting a steam train only to find this 70s clapped out piece of diesel junk. Total rip off.

34101 hartland boiler seems to be taking ages

Gresley’s owners claim that it did a secret 117mph run in the 50s, but it was kept quiet because they’d already had a rollicking for doing 112mph, so the crew could have been fined / banned for a repeat offence.

9:00 Deviation Shed - the 0-6-2 tank on the left, is Lambton Colliery No. 5. It’s having major surgery. The cylinders have issues TBC, rear radial truck worn out, boiler needs full overhaul, smokebox and bunker rotted away due to outside storage. The tanks are salvageable. This loco is lower priority for overhaul, because it’s low powered and can’t pull big trains.
