I've started to realize this, and it may help your sermon but motivation is a good analogy. You need to do and then that motivation begins to build, it's not just there. I struggle with motivation too, but as my faith has grown so has my motivation. God seems to always offer a hand, but if you're not willing to reach out and grasp it back then he won't force you but will keep it extended out, if by chance you decide to change your mind. I'm someone that was born in a godly house and grew up in the faith, but I turned away. My brother was killed and the years following made me extremely angry and the church was more of a detriment than help. I'm at a point where God and Jesus seem less crazy and directionless than every other choice. From a theist turned atheist and now stumbling back into religion, it's never too late.

Yeesh what a literal sheep mentality. Idk how people still buy this nonsense with the entire world at their fingertips. They hold on like a Flat Earther of "no... I'm in the small percentage that knows the _real_ truth." It's nonsense, so far from original translation (like the Commandments were called "The Words." Tyrant was conveniently taken out in the KJV... and books not included in the Biblical canon because it ruins the monotheistic messaging. Never mind that it makes 0 sense when we know about genetics. It's not historically accurate. The authors of the New Testament are people well after the fact writing down a story (or copying other books) and none of the authors are who the books are about. Matthew didn't write Matthew, Luke didn't write Luke, etc. Not to mention it's pretty arrogant to assume you landed on the correct interpretation in a religion where most sects disagree with each other and other religions available.
