I think your first version is not a jig but a waltz. 3/4. versus 6/8. (i.e. "The irish washerwoman" is a 6/8 jig)
Your comment made me think, so thank you for that! My understanding is that (aside from some emphasis that happen in jigs when they're played at speed) the only real difference is in the notation. Can't one simply notate a waltz as a jig, and vice versa? I'm certainly playing it a bit slower here. Would love to hear more thoughts.
Hi Aaron, It's always wise to be skeptical, to explore yourself and ask others. You also may listen to mazurka's, slipjigs and single jigs to experiënce different dance tunes with 1-2-3 pattens. There's loads of info on the internet.
ADAD? Making me think too hard. Does sound good though.
That’s right!
You get used to it quick
Let’s start a jug band
Good sounding style n! Ive got a '27 style n, still trying to get the hang of using a pick for tenor. Lol, but love the banjo!
This thing is sounding a lot better these days now that I got the right strings and a new tailpiece on it. I should re-record it for you, but if you take a look at some of my other videos it'll be sounding much better.
Bonjour monsieur vraiment bravo 👍🎻
Beautifully played! You definitely earned a subscriber.
Such a beautiful arrangement of this classic tune.
This is absolutely awesome! I was looking for something that was very different and not the same boring notes and this totally nailed it! Thank you
