The worst thing to ever happen to Corrie was bringing in the middle class families like the new houses across the street and underworld. Corrie was good because the people were lower working class but real honest and humble. Anyone that got above themselves were deliciously taken down by Bet and co.

It actually saddens me seeing the decline in quality with the writing through the years. Gail and Eileen’s feud was both raw and brutal through the 2000s but they just became a couple of clowns during the 2010s and 20s.

Back in the days when a Corrie character involved in a police/legal story was an excitement,not a daily occurrence. The fact that 2024/2025 Corrie has three police full time characters, plus three solicitor characters,and a purpose built police station set says it all...and multiple characters investigated weekly. We see more of Weatherfield Station interview room than The Kabin now. This wouldn't be shocking gossip for Blanche now...it would be a day ending in Y. Tony Warren created a day to day British drama not "CSI Weatherfield". Audiences want characters and credibility not forensics and flashbacks. If the ex writers of Silent Witness, Law and Order UK and The Bill are out of work...clearly Granada Studios are the place to go now...

So many characters I remember that I never cared about and that were so boring and never did anything. Oh, 8:26, Denise, with one hand bigger than the other that she would always appear to be hiding.
