These great old lenses are creamy sharp, an old term used in the film days. They help take the clinical sharpness from 4k cameras. One of my cameras, the sigma fp, great color science, way too sharp. Another great lens that’s overlooked is the contax zeiss 28-70 f3.5 zoom - inexpensive too, got mine on eBay for $125 near mint. I got tired of bringing all my zeiss primes around so this 28-70 lens almost never leaves the camera and mine is parfocal too. Thanks for the great vids!
Thak you! I never try the Zeiss zooms but I I've heard good things about this lens. It's probably time to try it 😊 I hope the front glass doesn't rotate with the Focus like the Minolta does.

Hey Chenny Ye夜小倩! No, I am not for the moment. I have my eye on a 50mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T* but is a bit expensive. If I find a good deal and get my hands on one of these, I will let you know and make the comparison.

Very happy to watch a video about that lens. I've got the AIS version, and have been using it for decades now. I've used it with all my Nikon cameras of course (film and digital) and now with the Fujifilm X-Pro2, great combination too. Great lenses never die 🙂
I very much agree with you! I had never considered looking at vintage Nikons before, but the quality of the image and the colors have made me look for a 50mm to see how it is 😀. The 105mm turned out to be a lens that I can have on the camera for a whole day and have fun using it. I love it!
@@hopefullyinfocus Go for the 50mm, those lenses from the 60's/70's are absolutely fantastic.I also own the 200m f4 AI, sharpness and contrast are ridiculous.
@@joelp2419 Yes I Will... The 50mm is in my list 😊 Now, interesting what you said about the 200mm. I have a old Jupiter 200mm and it's fine but the contrast is not so good. Maybe I have to try a Nikkor 200mm 🤔☺ Thank you for your suggest!

Name me a single reason why i should buy helios in 2023? i can buy sony 50mm lens and get same bokeh more sharpnes and overall quality. i dont buy lens only because it been used for 5 second in batman movie
😄 That it's a good point. Reason number one: It's very fun to use it. And we are not all professional 100% of the time, sharp lenses it's for sharper work. So to answer your question: If getting fun with your camera at the price of 30€ is possible now in days, I am in! Oh, and BTW... if It is possible to file like you shooting Batman, even if is for 5 seconds, I AM DEFINITELY IN 🤣
