Meshmixer Series: Episode 7 - Residual Limb Scan to Socket
Переглядів 15 тис.5 років тому
In this video, I demonstrate how to create a patient-specific 3D printable prosthetic socket from a 3D scan of the patients residual limb. Included are details on how to attach adapters to the bottom of the socket to enable the socket to interface with a standard pylon. Meshmixer Series: Episode 6 - Segmentation and Smoothing of Residual Limb from Structure Scanner
Переглядів 6 тис.5 років тому
This is the sixth episode in my Meshmixer series in which I discuss how to segment out the parts of a 3D scan that you want to work on and smooth out the scan. This has particular applications for low-cost 3D scanning and 3D printing for prosthetic and orthotic applications, especially in developing nations. Hi, thanks for your clear videos. This morning when I opened meshmixer my model was black instead of gray. What can I do about this because I can't edit anything like this.
what's this?
No idea what’s happening but great video Saul!
Good Stuff
Good head scan. What scanning method did you use?
I physically cannot access the menu for make solid, it’s far too tall for my screen
Just shave your beard man!
This is great, @Saul! I'm having some trouble with the robust smooth. Can you take a look at my model? It looks like it would be a walk in the park for you! I just need the front face section of my model to be smooth before I export and print.
i need help! i have a model of a hot rod car, and i cut the windows... the model is hollow. but the interior keeps oranje... and i don´t know how continue this work. i want to keep it without windows, and extrude it for get more thickness.
Hello. The link to download the scanned file does not exist. Can you provide a new one? Thank you
Hi there. Sorry for the delay. Here's permalink to the files I am using zenodo.org/records/13768747
How did you add the adapter @08.15 ?
Thank You So Very much for your Time and Work, Your Vid is the Best Tutorial Ever, I am designing my own prosthetic for sports. You are Sincerely Appreciated.
Hello Saul, Do you offer training for the Autodesk Meshmixer software to use for O&P device designing?
Thank you for this amazing series, do you know any website I can get a residual limb model?
Hi, I don't know if youll see this comment but where can I download the CAD file for the limb that you are using? I need one for a university project and cant seem to find one anywhere
Hi, did you adjust the dimensions before you created the socket? How did you know the distance of the socket to the limb to be computed
The link is not working can u provide a new one please?
Hi there. Sorry for the delay. Here's permalink to the files I am using zenodo.org/records/13768747
Any ideas if it stays red and your work around doesn't work? I have one last area that just will not cooperate
This video is amazing!! Showing all the keyboards commands as you go was brilliant!! Thank you, this has helped me hugely in my project.
this is a really really good video thank u
Love it.
More videos like this and please start from the first steps cause I a beginner. And I don't know anything about it, we need it in college
Hello sir.. I'm a student of prosthetic & orthotics.. I want to practice this.. can u please send me this obj file
Which software to use to assemble the stump and the socket for FEM?
Hi sir, do you know how to obtain the nodes' coordinates and triangular mesh connectivity (if wireframe is turned on) of the surface? Thanks.
Haha dude are you secretly Ezra Miller from Justice League? Great video thanks!
Really helpful , extremely easy way to thicken thin parts 👍
Thank you for this video. Could you please tell me which kind of file did you use fo the cylinder? (STL, OBJ. PLY)
Lots of great info and tips for workflow! That join function was pretty cool.
Sir, this is amazing!
Hi Saul, I'm a biomedical engineering student from Canada. Is the scan you used an open source file, or do you know of any specifically of a transtibial residuum? Thank you!
Hi Annette, unfortunately I do not know of any open source files for transtibial residuum. The file I am using is from Nia Technologies, a nonprofit based in Canada that I've done some work with. If you reach out to them, they may provide access to the file for you as well.
@@saultshaker Thank you so much for the advice!
@@annetteharvey4463 I went ahead and reached out to my contacts at Nia and they cleared me to send you the scan! Here is the link: drive.google.com/file/d/18vP3OcoELNn2o0SGK3q93QG22wMzzU11/view?usp=sharing
@@saultshaker Thank you so much for reaching out on my behalf! This is a huge help to a prosthetic design project I'm working on :)
ahhaahah great video! you're really funny ahahah
Could you please post a video with step-by-step guidance of setting up BLAM and visualizing live data. Thank you!
Great tutorial man! What methods/software did you use to get the scan?
Hi! This scan was taken by someone else, but I believe they used the first generation Structure Sensor by Occipital. Here is a link to their website: structure.io/
@@saultshaker how can i talk to you ?? i need some help
hello, how can I make the unwrap of the socket in the video
Hi there! I am not sure what you mean, can you elaborate a bit more? I'd be happy to help!
At the 5 min mark, what key are you pressing?
Spacebar!
Does repair seal a hole with a flat plane? It looks like it creates more of a rounded patch - how does it determine the patch geometry?
Great question, Brian. The replace/fill tool (f) has a couple of options in the drop down menu. The patch geometry is determined by those options
