My brothers and I spent more than a few summers in Cavan between Glangevlin and Dowra in the townland of Gola where our mam came from. Turning and tedding the hay, and building haystacks. Fishing and climbing Carraig na Madra - Rock of the Dog, but it's called something else on the map of Cavan. Used to have a few sneaky pints in B Gildea's in Dowra. Those were idyllic summers in the 60s and 70s. Will have to go back for a wee look one of these days. Fear Manach Abu, agus An Cabhan, cinnte. I'm a Charlie Johnnie from Gola, but I grew up in Enniskillen.
Terry Farrelly: I spent wonderful summers on Mullagh Hill with my grandfather, roaming the mountain of Mullagh Hill, so blessed w cousin Sean and wonderful wife Brenda accompanied us here with my wife, brought us lovely days ☘

@ Discover-Ireland, I never thought that i would be seeing Ireland twice, first was in May 2014 on my 50th Birthday and September of 2016, God works in mysterious ways, both trips were upgraded into first class, since my bigbear worked for Delta Airlines for 22 years 😊☘

My great grandad Patrick OConnor was a dairy farmer as was his dad and grandad before him from Cavan
