I am a photographer passionate about exploring different cultures, stories & people through photography. Experiencing other cultures, meeting people
from other communities from my own country, India, or other countries fascinates me the most.
I also interested in the field of historical photography process and have been involved in working with analoge camera while exploring different historical photography printing processes. Through this channel i will share all my experiments, knowledge and things I love doing in this historical field.

Wooden Wonders - Journey Through Channapatana's Toy Making Craft
Come along, as my inspiration takes a deeper turn into the world of photography. After almost 20 happy years of exploring the art of storytelling through stills - I now feel drawn to a deeper medium which I like to call photography in motion. In my definition they are stills as individuals, but stories in motion when put together!
A recent airport walk-through enabled me to experience and witness some truly amazing craft inspired installations. One that really sparked inspiration was Ravi Kumar Kashi's 'Flights of Wonder,' a beautiful ode to the Channapatna toy-making tradition. Combining my already thriving passion for crafts and a newly growing curiosity for motion seemed only natural as we went on an impromptu visit to the charming town of Cannapattana. Steeped in a 200 year history, the town and it’s craftsmen became my muse instantly.
A special thanks to Shubhaji Raghavendra for letting me tell my story better with a snippet from her Kannada Folk Song, 'TANDHANA TA NA NA'.

Great Work 👏👏👏
Thank you so much!
where can I buy this sort of glass from and the magnet that holds each glass together
After costing the glass, could we put it under sun light?
What is the first white substance? What is the white tablet?
Fabulous; Is there anything I can apply to the final print to make it last longer?
Loved this beautifully documented. Peaceful bgm too
this is really amazing,
Question? Can cyanotype on glass be used for for decorative windows? Its noticeable that there are numerous tutorials on UA-cam on how to do cyanotype on glass, however not a single display of decorative windows with cyanotype on glass. Be it for external or interior windows with cyanotype on glass. Should anyone know if it is possible to use cyanotype on glass for decorative windows please let me know. Thanks.
A very successful work. Could you share with us what you did step by step? How long do you let the gelatin sit in the first step? Did you heat the gelatin? thank you in advance
Groovy idea!
amazing work, but the music has nothing to do with it, like cowboys westerns what was the point?
What was the point of your negative comment?
great video
where did you get this music from? What artist is it?
Lovely, probably best to wear gloves though for the chemicals🙂 amazing I love them
Whos the artist
I am, Siddharth Kaneria
Wow! Cool concept, beautifully executed.
Thank you very much!
What did you use to pretreat the glass before applying the cyanotype emulsion ?
gelatine i guess...
how can I learn more about the chemicals and process? thanks for sharing this, your work is amazing
Amazing
Awesome!
hello, how much gelatine did u put in the chemicalmix?
Beautiful ❤
Not sure if this is of interest but elements of the same chemistry can be used to turn any silver based image blue.
Absolutely beautiful!
This is beautiful. Is it gum arabic or gelatin?
Thank you! Its Gelatin
Thanks for the beautiful transparency, may I know how do you make the gum Arabic dry? just cool it in the room temperature? thanks..
yes, in room temperature. I takes 24hours to dry
@@siddharthkaneria thank you, I will try, and after the gum Arabic drying, just rinse the glass with cyanotype solution and let it dry in dark place too, right?
@@ShihWeiChieh yes, overnight drying the glass after applying the cyanotype too.
Wonderful video and project!
Many thanks!
I'm coming kinda late to this video, but I'm interested in doing prints on glass myself and I have few questions. Did you mixed gelatin with chemicals together or coated them on separate layers ? Did you used UV Light to print it ?
From the video, looks like two separate coatings
First layer is just gelatin and another is the mix layer with chemicals & gelatin. yes, i use UV lights for exposing.
@@siddharthkaneria DO YOU HAVE ONLINE WORKSHOP TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS ?
Was that gum arabic or gelatin you used to coat the glass?
Gelatine is what i have used as the first layer of coat
@@siddharthkaneria please I WANT THE Process how? and the negative how you do it and size? please I need you contact email or Instagram ?
Hello! What is the name of the device in which all the portraits are mounted? where can we see the result of this project?
Hi! That’s the custom structure I have made. I am still working on the final outcome which will still take couple of months
hermoso!!!!
Hi! How do you make the large scale negatives?
Hi! I use plotter, which are used to print architecture drawing for my large negatives
Wow. This is beautiful.
Cyanotype on glass takes much more time for exposing to sun than paper?
Exposing time of glass and paper remains same. For glass I always use UV tube lights rather then sun.
That is nice. Would be great for world wide pinhole day. Did you create it or download it? Where can I get it? Thank you.
I have created it. I guess I am late for this pinhole day :(
I didn't think it would stick to glass
Gelatine makes it’s possible
Very nice work. Love the concept.
Belíssimo vídeo, cianótipos perfeitos. Parabéns!!!
enlarge it so that people can walk through between two plate....or insert some moving plate that would make a dynamic and participatory art installation.
Sounds great! Thanks!
Lovely work. Well done a lot of effort I can see went in to make that piece.
Thank you!
Very good work
Interesting to see and a good result but a bit useless as an instructional programme as it contained no commentary. I would suspect there would need to be some additive to make the chemistry “ stick “ to the very clean glass . It could have been so much more helpful.
En los comentarios hay datos, revisarlos es gratis.
Hello, Do you put some kind of primer on the glass before emulsifying? Gracias.
No nothing is required, you can directly apply the emulsion.
@@siddharthkaneria gracias!
What song is this?
I'm actually trying to work out how to make large scale cyanotypes, so they are a mural. Is it totally impossible? Other than to recreate the image on a larger scale digitally or with paint.
All you need is large scale negative. Its absolutely possible. I had printed 3ft x 20ft long cloth once.
@@siddharthkaneria amazing! Have you got a video I can watch about it? How did you expose a negative that large?
@@katiemary I expose in Sun. I don't have any video but you can see some photographs on my Instagram - instagram.com/p/BR7RrK7BzOo/
Thanks for making this video, I'm so inspired! I've subscribed to your channel.
Thank you :)
This is ART
Beautiful work .. <3
Clever
Do you think it will show up on black Violet glass ?
I am not sure, never tried.
