Football is better when Nebraska is good... Colorado was just overpowered by the D Line scary.... Colorado has some nice athletes and Nebraska outperformed them on every level from coaching to quarterbacking, blocking, running, kick off, punt return, kickoff return, containment!!!... The series that is troublesome is when the Huskers made it deep into Colorado territory they were called for a holding penalty and was pushed back and had to settle for a Field Goal which was a very obvious view at a failed Field Goal Unit...lucky enough Colorado field goal unit was worse. Field Goals and Penalties is an issue, but everything else is off the charts.

When I was a kid, I only ever had to check the top 5 to see where Nebraska was ranked. Season after season. Seeing them ranked now is strange, but good. 🎉

I’ve said it before…. Gotta start somewhere. It’s what they do going forward and not let it go to their egos. Use it to drive yourself to get better. Edit to add, they’ve always been ranked. Just not for the good stuff (turn overs, close losses, etc)

Excited or worried? Both, actually to be honest. I grew up watching the Huskers during our decades of dominance in the 80s and 90s. The fan sign that was seen at the game that has made it all over the Internet says it best for my kids that were born in 99. "This is the Huskers that my dad keeps telling me about". I'm excited because it has been such a long time coming and I do believe, (at least in the most part), we're back. But where my concerns lie is (just like you stated), becoming complacent and thinking that they don't have to prepare for the next opponent and just think they're going to win by just stepping out on the field. Growing up as a Husker fan I've seen the rise and fall and, (hopefully), another ascension to dominance in college football again. I've always supported my Huskers through it all and I'm going to ride that hype train with a tall glass of Kool-Aid while I can. GBR

My prediction was 28-17 NE, but that means nothing against what i consider an overranked team. NE is turning a page but we're not top 25 yet. We need to earn our keep. We'll do it. But we haven't earned it yet. GBR, and put in the work.

Even during the down years, many of Nebraska’s games are still capture curious attention because they’re still a brand like Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, ND, USC, Oklahoma, etc. The only people who don’t reject this are the younger fans of the sport who are unaware of, or who are not objective and are unwilling to accept what is factual. Nebraska is very important to the history of college football; their record of accomplishments can speak for itself. You cannot talk about the history of high achievement in the sport without mentioning Nebraska. Moreover, they’re guaranteed to spark interest when they finally return to their standard of winning football. Their last championship was more recent than some teams on the list (Penn State 1986 and ND 1988). GBR!!!🌽

I was rooting big time for Nebraska last night, and hope they can continue to improve as a program. I think they have a few more years before they can start competing with top talent in the conference and country. Just keep working and recruiting.

I think it’s a good thing. Just incase Nebraska is CFP relevant it’s good that we broke into the poles early and I feel the AP and coaches anticipate Nebraska being relevant at the end of the year.

No. Offensive linemen (even starters) were making some pretty bad errors. Not sure if it's communication, the d-line getting to them, or they just boned the play. Holding cannot happen on run plays. A couple of times, holding took place when the guy should have known the runner was away from them. Especially when the D-line is crap, and undoubtedly, their D-line is crap. I understand holding on a pass play every once in a while. When done to protect the QB, but on run plays, we must do better.

Honestly the thing I dislike most about cfb is preseason rankings. There really shouldn’t even be polls until week 3-5. I think being ranked now is good for the team so they don’t get big headed getting ranked later before a bigger game.

I could have waited for beating Illinois so we could play possum a little longer. But the cats out of the bag now. I am not worried whatsoever. Just look at how they handle things on the field. Clean up a couple little things, penalties, making catches on perfect throws that touched fingertips and slight route adjustments. That’s a 50 point game. Rhule and staff will clean it up. And like he said, he is treating it like they lost. 100% confidence the culture will follow suit.

Dowdel is a BAD back! Raiola is the REAL deal. Our line is MUCH improved. Our entire Defense are BEASTS. And people who watch football can see the difference in performance. Bottom line: We won't lose many games this year. One or maybe two losses, that's it.

Nebraska is getting better. But YOY! Stupid penalties are killing the offense. They could have had 40 points yesterday. And I don't want to hear about the refs. That is a poor excuse for stupidity. If Nebraska plays cleaner, they will do better.

Why does it seem like the offensive line does great during the first half but not the 2nd half? Is there just not enough depth at that position to cycle people out and guys are getting gassed or is it a psychological thing? Does it have to do with play calling? Raiola had way more pressure on him in the 2nd half.

Kind of like Wisconsin and Iowa not doing so well right now but we play them at the end of the year. Teams develop and morph as the year progresses. Those two teams will be totally different........but so will we.
