The Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council (PWSRCAC) is an independent nonprofit corporation whose mission is to promote environmentally safe operation of the Valdez Marine Terminal and associated tankers. Our work is guided by the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, and our contract with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. PWSRCAC's 18 member organizations are communities in the region affected by the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, as well as commercial fishing, aquaculture, Alaska Native, recreation, tourism, and environmental groups.
Large Whale Entanglement Response in Alaska “a Team Effort” with John Moran
Entanglements in marine debris and fishing gear cause significant suffering, serious injuries, and even death to large whales. This talk discusses how trained responders handle entanglement situations, with a particular focus on the recent response to an entangled humpback whale in Port Valdez.

You need processing facilities to dry it like it is packaged in Asia. Alaska lacks access to fresh food outside of the summer and dried seaweed weighs almost nothing and can get easily put on a plane and stored for years. In Asia seaweed is mostly used as reconstituted from dried. Soak dried seaweed in water and they reconstitute pretty well. Same with dried funguses. Stop reinventing the wheel, do what works in Asia. Dried seaweed will help Alaska with food security in the winter in remote areas since it weighs nothing when dried and came be easily flown in a Cessna and stored for years and reconstituted when needed.
