Still have some quirks to work out. I need another while loop for the Tone + Xi > 12 condition in a similar manner to how things are handled with Xi < 0. I think this change will make this general approach correct for both positive and negative Xi. The process seems to work itself out smoothly. I know it can feel weird using a 12-base system with an index based on 1 and avoiding 0 and negative numbers. Once this is coded out, its use will be far more natural to demonstrate and explain. Examples: ** () represents the transform to perform on the pitch which are the non parenthesized values that must be in the range 1 to 12. ** 1 --> (-1) = 1 --> -(-1 + 12) = 1 --> -(11) = -(1+11) = -12 11 --> (-1) = 11 -> -(11) = -(11 + 11) = -22 --> -+(22-12) = 10

I come from the Beethoven and Tchaikovsky line, and I can't do anything as good as you. keep it up. Did you know that Horowitz said about Chopin's mazurkas that 'each one is better than the last one' - well I'd say the same about your brilliant pieces. Never give up. Make sure you publish them. By the way you might like to see someone called Dafaneo or something on yt - he also does improv. pieces. He was taught by that famous French teacher Nadia Boulanger i think her name is....
