The pair worked together at South Melbourne between 1989-92 when Puskas was manager and Postecoglou was captain - though the Australian’s role also became unofficial translator and chauffeur for the Real Madrid ...
this game should have finished 7-2, minimum, gs had 28 shots on goal tottenham had 5, i think that says it all, osimhen on he's own could have scored 5, tottenham were really lucky not to get embarrassed in this game, what has happened to son, i didnt even notice he was playing until i saw he got fouled by sanchez in the game.
Galatasaray was the better team yesterday. Ref did a good job.
Tottenham fans are like Mourinho coaching Fenerbahçe. He also complains against the referees all the time after each Fener game if the result is against them. Stop being childish. The referee was in no way helpful to home team. Spurs players think they can punch and kick the opponent the way they want and get away with that. That is not Rugby men!
Thank you
scariest atmosphere in Europe
as a gala fan we are 70min team with no depth. if you were full team match would be closer. still i believe every game we play at home we are favorite.
As far as defeats go, this one was fairly palatable under the circumstances. Good luck on the speech
Thanks very much
Many thanks
Too many fans are losing their minds over a understandable loss to one of the most tricky away teams
Agree
what do you mean with tricky?
Poor excuse for not giving us a vlog after the Ipswich game. Why not mash upna match report with your best man's speech?
😂😂
Goodluck at the wedding 🎉
Let's get one thing clear- Ange doesn't produce these sorts of games just for "entertainment", he just has more success as an attacking coach. You've definitely misrepresented him.
Thanks Tom - enjoy the wedding
Will do once the speech is done 🤣
Great roundup of the games with some interesting extras. COYS
Thanks very much
Galatasaray came out full throttle and were gassed by the end ....I thought we could have won it if we didn’t lose Lankshear to red card even with a B-team ....madders looked poor pressing again and didn’t create much, he doesn’t look like he fits our system .....bergval didn’t do much but is still learning, I think he’s still coming to grips with everything, he looks nervous/overthinking at lot, he will become better ......Bentancour looks better in the DM than Bissouma, he can turn quick and pass....the first goal was a freak goal off of a lucky deflection, without that goal it would have been 2-2 draw .....ref was poor I thought, and atmosphere was also hard to overcome, all in all I thought we played okay considering everything
Agree with this. I think madders is just inconsistent right now but he can regain himself. I always find myself frustrated with biss. I think if clubs enquire about him in the summer, we should consider offers because cardoso or bentancur would be far better in that no.6 role
Hmm, I feel like Spurs were quite lucky not to concede a fair few in that middle period. But agree with most of your other points
"even with a b team" lmao. Cope. This game could've ended 9-2 , your supposed A team couldn't have done anything against it either. So many excuses.
The ref ruined the game for me, he was clearly against Spurs as he sided with the home fans to stay in their good books. So many fouls committed on the Tottenham players and no justice was given. So basically, Galatasaray roughed us out of the game, they stopped us from playing our natural game and the ref didn't help us at all. But then again, this is what Ange gets for playing such a weakened team. And the the Premier League need to stop giving us so many games to play as it's killing our team with injuries.
Agree with this. My take from the game, Honestly, after watching bissouma tonight, he tries hard but he's just not good enough. I really think we should consider selling him in the summer if we get an offer and hopefully we get cardoso and build the midfield around gray, bergvall, cardoso, bentancur, kulu, sarr and maddison. Bentancur did more in 30 minutes than biss did all game. He was Trying to take on 3-4 galatasaray players for some bizarre reason and then giving possession away cheaply, overplaying the ball rather than playing it to a spare man. Really selfish play
@@conorsmith8551 That's funnyl, because Bissouma was our best player with the ball going forward. The problem was with Ange, treating Galatasaray as if they're a Championship side. He showed them no respect in their own stadium by starting such a weakened side. Ipswich was our last game for two weeks for the international break. He could have fielded our strongest side and then hope to get a 2 goal lead and then bring on the younger players with 20 minutes to go. He's clueless and just stood their again with his hands in is pockets. the ref didn't help us by turning a blind eye to so many fouls on our players. The ref stopped us from playing or natural game, he was awful allowing so much grace to Galatasaray who just fouled us out of the gam in the first half. I thought I was watching a rugby game at times as they were allowed to be so rough with us. It wouldn't surprise me if Levy ordered Ange to play a weakened team to make the PL first priority. Our defence is down to the bear minimum and he's playing Archie Gray an 18 year old out of position. He's going to ruin the lad, and then Bergvall lost the ball so many times which tells me the manager is not giving him simple instructions to carry out. With a young lad like that playing against men, you need to tell him to keep it simple and to be quick with your speed of thought. Make sure that complete your passes and control that midfield. Bergvall couldn't handle the speed of Galatasarays press when he received the ball. Ange didn' do anything about it. He's not the only one though, as they all kept losing the ball and then this stupid playing out from the back got us in trouble again. Our defenders should have been looking for the long ball to our wingers with Galatasaray so high up with the press against us. Every year it's the same there's no change at this club, the quality just isn't good enough.
@todareistodomyfoot8403 I'm so conflicted with biss. I see a lot of good play from him but then I consider some of the things he does as selfish play. I think as the anchor in midfield he should have been trying to help bergvall compose himself and same with maddison. I don't see a lot of communication from him with the other midfielders at times. I think it was a game that we just wanted to get out of the way and rest players for the weekend as 3 pts in the league is more important than 3 pts in europa league. I just feel biss is here longer than maddison and bergvall, he should have been helping them more to get into the game. My 2 cents
I suppose if they fail to bear Ipswich on Sunday, then the weakened team will have backfired. But three wins out of three meant he could gamble tonight and still get through, and given the injuries that are mounting up due to the schedule I don’t think anyone should be surprised by the changes he made
@@conorsmith8551 Listen mate, Bissouma got man of the match so many times for Brighton because his manager knew how to use him. Bergvall is not ready, and Ange is throwing him in against grown men in a game that he's not ready for. You throw these young players on when the opposition are tiring out. Gray is playing in the wrong position, he's not learning anything other than the fact that he's not a defender. Ange is clueless, and he's working with too many low quality players. He don't care because either way he's getting the best paying job he's had in his career. Arsenal are paying 170 plus million on player wages per season and we're only paying out 120 million. So nothing changes until the ownership changes hands. We'll have the good game every now and then when we click but with the lack of quality, we're only going to be up and down all season. We just take part in events, it's always been this way because Levy don't want to win anything. He's happy at just collecting the PL money every season and building more properties to increase the value of the club for future sale. 3 home games revenue about 20 million pound is what we'd make if we won't the euro league so Levy isn't interested. His main priority is to finish as high up the table as possible to get that money and he does this by buying a mix of decent players, maybe one to two star players out of contract and then the rest or average along with young players with potential. Until he goes, you'll continue to see results like this in all competitions because we simply don't have the quality or the depth to compete. IN the three european games before hand the warning signs were there as we could have easily lost those games. We should have lost the Coventry game. So I'm not expecting anything good this season like every season. The transfer window showed us all that Levy wants this project to fail so he can start another cheap plan with a new manager. He wants young players on low wages with four or five experienced players on just over 100 grand a week. I think we only have 6 players on over 100 grand a week. Bissouma for me needs a good DM behind him so he can roam free in the midfield. I don't think he's an intelligent player, but he's more of a natural instinctive player who's up and down like every other player in this team. Our forwards are a joke, our wingers have problems taking on their man. I said we'll finish 8th this season and maybe Ange makes way for the next puppet for this fake process to start all over again. It's cheaper for Levy to start these fake projects all over again than it is to buy ready made quality every window. He don't' want to compete and that's that sadly.
Hello Tom Great report as always. Thought the first yellow was harsh for WL. Spurs really didn't help themselves. I have no idea what they were all doing for the first 60 mins. Seemed to all forget how to play football and constantly kept giving the ball to Galatasaray at every available opportunity. Think the atmosphere got to them. I saw a lot of panic, players just not wanting the ball passing it without thinking. But a good learning curve as none of them apart from Ben D have played in that sort of game before, and we nearly grabbed a point. Oh, well. Good luck on Sunday. Your mate planned that well, the international break coming up, so you can recover!!!
Thanks very much. Tbh international breaks feel more full on cos I cover England so will be heading to Greece next week. Hopefully Solanke gets some game-time!
Good luck with the best man speech! :)
Thanks very much!
Thanks for your analysis of what appeared to be a chaotic game and for the info on Hugo’s book. Good luck with your speech at the weekend, don’t forget to thank the bridesmaids.
My pleasure and good point!
I liked that we carried on trying to play our football and passing it out from the back rather than hoofing up the park as Glen Hoddle was suggesting on the TV commentary. It nearly come off, and we know that Ange's style of risk/reward football means that there are going to be some games where we are going to concede a few goals (fortunately not as many as there could have been). It's all part of the process. Roll on Ipswich on Sunday and of other results go our way, we could go into the international break in 3rd place 😲
Felt a bit of a free hit tonight for Spurs. Yup, that’s the way to look at it re Sunday!
And enjoy the journey! If all you do is support for trophies you will die a sad fan. We have an exciting young group, now is the time to get excited.
Thanks, your channel is such a welcome relief in the cesspool on rabid youtube EPL fan sites.
Very kind of you to say.
If Spurs could complete a pass (and it was Romero instead of Radu) it would've been a completely different game. But more importantly: our starters got some rest.
Yep, game-time been shared. 13th different scorer as well for this season
I don't think he was being presented with options and he also got a few hospital balls.. its a tough ask with a weakened team around him
I think it's good that Ange keeps trying the Young Bloods as much as possible in this competition, it was too much for them though tonight. We must win next time, so it'll have to be the A-listers!
Steep learning curve for the youngsters tonight
@@TomBarclayjournalist For sure!
It's great to hear an unbiased review and that dreaded comment " Levi out " .... this is a breath of fresh air..... COYS
Very kind, thank you
This 'special atmosphere' in Istanbul is an old wives tale .
Interesting. I guess we’ll see in a few hours
A calm voice, an antidote to all the toxic UA-camrs that are out there… I listen to The Hotspur Hippie, Chris Cowlin and now Tom Barclay… And that’s it!!
Very kind of you to say, thanks.

Enjoyed my stay!
Great video. Good to see accurate reporting as a Gala fan. Will subscribe and keep following.
That’s kind but this will be just Spurs content on here I’m afraid, barring the reaction video later to tonight’s game!
@TomBarclayjournalist That's good and all as I frequently follow Spurs. Will look forward to future videos. Btw try to enjoy Istanbul while you're here. Don't forget to start the day with a big traditional breakfast ;)

Great videos - thoughtful, informative and to the point. Thank you.
My pleasure
HelloTom, enjoy your vids. I'd like to see Jed Spence and Wilson Odebert included in the team here if they are fit. Did they travel with the squad to Turkey ? I think they both add skill and cleverness.
Spence isn't in the Europa squad and can't play and Odobert is still injured
Thanks very much much. Odobert won’t be back for a while due to injury and Spence has not been included in the squad
4231 Udogie Davies Drag. Gray / Biss Sarr / Madison/ Son Lankshear Bergvall that's my prediction given all the absences - leave Solanke, Johnson, Decky to come on in 2nd half. Will be interesting to see who starts in goal
Yeah can defo see that
Am worried! No Romero or VDV, Galatasary are on fire 🔥 😬🫣🫣
Going to be a tough one, no doubt!
Hello Tom Hard one re the line up. I know there's nothing to lose, but I don't think Ange will want to get hammered and have to build the confidence back up, especially as we are on a great run of form. I'd go strong, Vic, Porro, Drag, Ben, Archie, then Kulo, Biss and Madders, Son, Dom and Brennan. Bring on Berghval, Lankshear, Pap, Destiny and Bentancur at some point. Left side really concerns me. No real cover now Timo, Richie and Mikey M are out and Sonny returning after injury
That would be a v strong line-up but it’s possible for sure
If we manage to pull out a win I’d really be impressed. Excited to see how Lankshear does, if he appears! Thanks for the quality videos man!
Thanks mate, my pleasure
What are people thinking for the line-up Ange will go with? Lankshear or Solanke? Porro in at right-back? Let me know in the comments.
I'm thinking we may try a different formation here since we are missing wingers. Maybe 4-3-2-1 with gray and porro supplying crosses.
Solanke on the left to keep the pressing and lankshear front centre
Im really enjoying this journalist's informative and concise reports.
Many thanks
Score prediction, Tom? I'm thinking we may well take an 'L' here. Great stuff - and thanks btw
Think Galatasaray may have too much here, but Spurs have got enough in the bag already to afford a loss
@TomBarclayjournalist yes, totally agree; I suspect that a loss would be accepted by most fans, all factors considered.
Willy Lanks hat trick incoming.
Heard it here first!
The kds are going to get Kebabed but itl be a great learning for them and toughen them up for the prem
Yay, three minutes in, and we still have sound! It will be interesting to see what the line-up will be.
Yeah, sorry about that. Frustrating!
Gosh you travel everywhere following the team. Are you a journalist that covers the team?
Yes
메디슨 프리킥은 환상적이었습니다.
Certainly was!
I really appreciate your measured content 🙏
Great to hear!
Hey Tom how was Matt Law in the post match press conference? Does he still not like THFC?
He was fine but I don’t know about that 😂
Reading the comments is how I discovered you're THE Tom from the press conferences 😂
Sure am
Another great summary Tom! COYS
Many thanks
Solanke has played a lot and Richarlison got injured, do you think we'll see Will Lankshear starting away in Turkey?
I think Lankshear will be involved, and if Richy is out then I could see him starting being a possibility
That was the second press conference he referred to you by name Tom, must have a soft spot for you😉 ....so yeah it seems that not only is the team growing and evolving but Ange too is seemingly adopting and moving in ways that show that he's also somewhat learning about the EPL it's teams, their tactics and how to better play them... 🤔
Haha not sure about that! But yeah he does seem to be making little tweaks
Love the way Ange called you 'Tom' in the post match press and then got torn into you for your Dome Solanke stat 😂😂😂
😂 I guess I walked into that one
They really rested their whole team midweek and essentially threw the cup, for that? To roll around, time waste, stodge things up and then get absolutely blown away. Pretty naive really.
Yup. Villa fans can’t be impressed
