Terra is a modern day treasure hunter. This includes rocks, crystals and gems, thrifting, upcycling, traveling and some other modern day treasure hunting. Treasures are all around us, if we take the time to look.
Greatest. Rockhunt. Ever. Join Me On This Epic Treasure Hunt!
Join me on the Greatest. Rockhunt. Ever. (Ok, *my* greatest!) This was filmed about a year ago (1-23-24) and it was easily (at the time) the best rock hunt I've had in this area. Believe it or not, I've had some comparable rockhounding adventures since, but this one makes me so happy when I look at all the treasures I found that day!
In this epic adventure, I explore the forest, uncovering hidden treasures and witnessing the beauty of nature. From a freshly broken tree to a lake-side haul, I share my exciting finds, including smoky and blue chalcedony, agates, and incredible leaf fossils. We even catch a clip of a bald eagle's majestic call and spot some kayakers enjoying the serene lake.
Watch until the end to see the final haul, featuring some stunning tumbled rocks and a recap of our amazing finds!
Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more rockhounding adventures and forest escapades. Let's get out there and explore!

Hello World! Terra's Treasures=Rock Hounding, Thrifting, Experiences & other modern day treasures
Would love to see more of your scenery. 😊
@@ruthmusser4449 thanks for the feedback. It is pretty magical here! The views and the peace are treasures in themselves for sure. I have a lag of about a year between what I’m editing/releasing and current day but know I’ve made note of it! Thank you for watching and commenting.
How do you clean those crystals so well?
There are a few methods. These were (I think-if I'm recalling correctly) cleaned with a tool that is meant for screenprinting. It's a very high pressure tiny jet of water. It's very effective, but sometimes *too* effective! (I've blasted sh*t into my eyes with it (quickly learned to always wear goggles!) and also I found that if the crystal structures are weak at all at the edges, you can blast your rocks to smithereens, which is super frustrating (had this happen on a polished piece when I was trying to clean the polish from the edges. bummer, man...) The second method is using a water pic (meant for teeth.) This is simple, cost effective (the first tool mentioned runs 50-75 bucks) and it's small. However, the water jet is not as powerful, which means it's not as effective. But, I've found it works pretty well. The last method is simple hand scrubbing with something like a toothbrush, scrubbing brush, etc. I use all 3 methods-it just depends on the task in hand-literally. Oh! That reminds me of another drawback of the high pressure jet. It's high enough pressure that if you slip and catch the skin of your fingers? OUCH. I've done that way more times than I care to admit and it can be really hard to not do if you have small specimens that you're trying to clean. Both of the water options will result in your being soaking and filthy, so just be aware! Hope that's helpful! -T
WOW.
@@ROCKINWHEELERS thank you! It was so fun for me to edit this video. I love that I get to experience the excitement of discovery sometimes three separate times. The first-when I’m actually hunting, the second when I go through the haul (which, because of being cold and tired often, ends up being weeks or even months later) and then the third time when I’m editing the footage. I love reading comments because it feels like a fourth time I get to experience the excitement of discovery!
0:56 I think that’s Hulk! He’s adorable.
Is it? It just looked like a generic lil' lad to me, but for sure super hero. :D
Hi Terra!
Hi Sis! :D We need to find something of yours to upcycle into a lamp, no? ;)

I really enjoy the treasure hunting portion of your channel. Would love to see how things are repurposed. Follow your gut on the direction you are going. Love you
@@lheilman thank you! I think it can work. I’m small enough still that it’s not like sponsors are watching my numbers. So I think I will just forge ahead, for now!
I am glad the floss was used. Interesting that jewelry making could use floss.
@@lheilman I *think* that’s right but honestly I didn’t think of it until I was recording the “what happened with it” segment. I honestly don’t know now if it would hold up. I think there’s a line to be drawn (and everyone’s will be different) between trying to salvage/reuse *everything* and getting through projects.
Ya, I’d definitely still use floss past its “expiration” date. I probably already have, since I never even noticed the date on there 😅
@@ScienceisRadAF samsies! I never noticed it either.
I also use small rocks. It. I think they Help save on Media. It is a headache when they get very small. I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
@@SissyMchill1 thanks for watching! Sometimes you get the most exquisite details on the little specimens. It’s just…tedious doing all that four times or more! :)
This is fun! I never look at my rocks to separate… I just rinse and throw in the next stage.. maybe I should be looking.
@@lheilman with the dual barrel tumbler, I often am running stage 1 and graduating them until I have enough for stage two. Then I usually finish them out. But I find with stage one, rocks need widely varying times depending on where they came from, what type they are, etc.
It would be perfect for making a little creature out of rocks, so cute!!! Every rock shown was beautiful, but that one tickles my heart!
I have an "ear" I found on another trip. (I'll link it here if I can...) I've certainly thought about stuff like that-would be fun to see what kind of rock beast I could create. (Or, maybe we work on it together?) ua-cam.com/video/-PwfZe-eDHE/v-deo.html (this is the vid with the ear)
12:15 The white rock with the little mouth is my favorite! Thank you for showing us some of your treasures!

gonna have to practice with the camera a little more haha nice finds!
@@butchthebullbro you’re not wrong! I honestly don’t know why those first shots were so blurry (still!) So who knows what I did wrong there. But I don’t think it’s happened much, if at all, since then. The footage I’m capturing nowadays is much better. Part of me wants to skip ahead in my footage/projects but then I think I would end up Not using a lot of stuff I put loads of energy into. Think I’ll just carry on for now! (But rest assured, like this video, my recording gets better the farther we go.) Thanks for watching and commenting. -T
If you want leaf fossils in Washington go to slide mountian in Whatcom county
Yes, regular UA-cam posts are a challenge. And then other things in life happens. Best wishes to you! And good luck with your dog recovering.
This says washington and oregon. What area? The gorge maybe?
Ish. :D It's private access, so I'm going to be vague about the exact location. I will likely always be pretty vague about locations, for reasons.
I love the poo ceramic and that you sent me a picture of it instead of buying!
@@lheilman it’s a great option. Love that technology helps us do that these days!
I love that you sharing your passion with us!
@@lheilman I love sharing it! It definitely is exciting. We had a FABULOUS hunt today. It will be awhile before that shows up on the channel but man was it good. You can always follow me on instagram for more up to date adventures too.
For UA-cam, it is best to dedicate your channel to just one niche. There is an audience for rock hounding, and another for thrifting, and another for wildlife. Most people will not want a channel with 2- or- 3 completely different topics. They just want one topic, and will not be interested in the others (affecting your viewer analytics, and confusing UA-cam on how to promote your channel). It is fine to try more than one topic at first-and then decide which topic you like more (or which topic seems to be getting more traction). Look at channels with topics you like, and how large their audiences are, and how they cover their topics. You can make more than one channel too, but I recommend only one b/c just one channel will keep you more than busy.
