Thank you for these recaps! Been all over the place lore wise from FC-Zero with your videos, while currently on chapter 3 of CS1, so I've been trying to consume as much trails media as possible so i can enjoy this series!

Idk how every character is able to just exposit and declare what's happening with complete confidence despite absolutely no basis or evidence for their assertions but they're always right and never get anything wrong. It's ridiculous and could be so easily avoided if they literally just had exposition be presented as theorising which may or may not then be proven true later on. Like how on earth is it that Lloyd able to say "yeah this is likely where he was collecting the flowers." Based on what???? How do you know this is the only dense patch of flowers??? There's never any considering of alternate possibilities because the characters are just never wrong about anything The "complex political intrigue" is even worse. It's just characters declaring that they somehow already knew something. Even when someone does have a plan they're only able to plan a maximum of like 2 months into the future; there's 0 subtlety and the disputes are more often resolved through the power of friendship than anything resembling realpolitik

This game has to have one of the most contrived plots I've ever seen in my life

I’m wanting to get into trails and I recently bought all of the games from Zero and Azure all the way up to Reverie and Daybreak. I didn’t get the Sky trilogy and I’m not sure I want to pay for them and play them for 50 hours each. I’m not a huge fan of older games and almost didnt buy Azure and Zero, but im going to play them. The sky trilogy were the only games not on sale when I bought the rest of the trails games. You summarizing them is helpful, but I’m sure it’s better to actually play them. When I start playing the trails games and I realize I like them, then I may buy the sky trilogy too.

I can definitely see why people love the crossbell series, a few things it has over cold steel (and i love cold steel, currently playing 3) is its action packed chapters and exciting plot progression with frequent major reveals. While cold steel has some similar elements the progression of the chapters can sometimes feel repetitive.

Remake announced!!!

Here after the remake announcement. I played through Trails SC a year ago, but ended up stopping due to life issues. Wanted to get back into it but needed a refresher of events. Thank you for being a legend and making these!

This one was kind of a slog compared to 1 & 2 but I enjoyed the extra dialogue and interactions between characters. The star doors were brilliant as well. It was a very abstract take on the world but a pretty cool way to deliver more context on the first two while setting up the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs.

Absolutely needed this, I wanted to get into this series and tried Cold Steel but was so confused. After seeing the latest game I REALLY wanted to jump in but I don't want to spend 1000 hours especially with the older games. With these I can jump back in with Cold Steel and work my way to Trails Through Daybreak.
