This video is our first one of many to come. The detailed explanation in this video was done by Peter Cammack, a memeber of Reigate Beekeeping Association in Surrey. It was made to cover every step of handling the bees. It is quite comprehensive and detailed that is why it is a little too long. The future movies will be much shorter and to the point. In this video we go through the basic tools to maintain a beehive and the steps you need to take before opening a hive and closing it. It is done in a form of a quesion and answer dialogue rather than a monologue, so it is easier for viewers to form their own understanding and ask their own questions. This series of future videos will cover the differencies between maintaining the national hive and the flow hive during the year and it will be interesting to see if thee are any differencies in the quality and quantity of the honey produced from different types of hives which are kept in the same environment.
