I started wearing barefoot shoes for daily use. I tried them golfing. I feel really connected to the ground. I can feel the fairway grass and the greens though my feet. Except for wet conditions the barefoot shoes can slip so I go back to a real golf shoe. On dry conditions I feel as planted as with my old golf shoes. But the "freedom" of me feet feels great. I also don't wear a glove.

Standard carry for my 56 is 75 yrds stiff ,i can crank that up to 95-100 with a little run out if the lie and conditions suit , but my stance , swing plane and shaft lean must be adjusted a little to allow the later hit . Its more of a get out of jail shot from thick but short rough or clover . I would rather take a pw. The first at my club usually sees me needing a high fadey kick right uphill shot from 95-100 righthand edge below feet , for this i use a 9i . The same as i would use into the downhill sloping away left of centre second shot into the tenth from 140-150 . My mat carry for a 9i is 125 stiff , i cannot think of many occasions during a round that i am calling on my 9i for a 125 stiff shot from a flat mid fairway into an open flat green . Maybe i should drive it further 😊- and straighter !

Where I go wrong sometimes when on the course is that instead of letting the club fall for the initial part of the downswing as you do, I tended to be fast right from the top and I have since realised that was not what I should be doing. 👍

Hits a guy left of the fairway who actually stops Lowry's ball from going into the gorse and being lost. Then when Lowry reaches him he tells him to "Get off the MIDDLE of the fucking fairway"! A REAL Pro golfer would have apologised for hitting such a poor shot, asked if the guy was ok and then given him a signed ball. Not Lowry though. Sure he was having a bad time, hard conditions, poor shots etc, etc but it's no excuse and highly Unprofessional.

That is just perhaps the worst looking golf swing on UA-cam. Give it up and go take some real lessons. This is just perhaps the one and only thing you do not want to do. FYI - A proper golf swing is a level body turn around your spine, against a strong relatively no-movement knee brace. That is a typical new player hacker's swing. or... a whack. whack swing.

I really like the way you meticulously make sure your grip is correct even on practice swings. I'm guilty of forgetting to do this.

I once had a teaching pro tell me that you hit the ball with your body, not your hands. I said, "Why don't you stick the club up your ass and see how far you can hit the ball?"
