This video discusses what makes a good and bad lede. It emphasizes thinking about News Values instead of the five W's when evaluating ledes. It also teaches students to think about how previous assignments play a role in succeeding at this assignment, especially when considering audience and persuasion.

They now safely reside in the U.S. The resources my students use to learn solid journalism skills are going away, as their general operating and travel budget has been slashed for the next three budget cycles. I created this Year-in-Review video solely for my students to show how much I appreciate their hard work. The beginning are photo images I took of my students wearing party hats when celebrating a staffers B'day last April. I thought, " Now I need to use these silly pics somehow," and produced this video from there.

    This is all BS! OJ did not commit these crimes. If you use your brain and research the facts of the entire case, the prosecution side and the defense side you would see that OJ did not commit these crimes. Take for one, both victims had extensive defensive wounds on their hands. Ron had swollen knuckles because he landed some good blows. Nicole had skin and blood under her nails which means she scratched the mess out of whoever killed her. In other words , whoever murdered them were beat the hell up! The police took pictures of OJ down to his underwear from head to toe a day after the murders. He had no bruises or scratches on him other than the cut he had on his left hand that he got in Chicago. Please use your brains and research the facts for yourself.

    1:11:31 Victim? ALL evidence pointed to him. Period. So the cops seeing all this evidence shouldn't have arrested him? Or, uh, you think they went out of their way in the early, early morning (even though he had been protected and had friends on the force) to set him up and therefore PLANTED all this evidence? What NAIVE planet are you living on??? Wow. Just WOW.

    The only hero in this story is Paul Marciano, founder of Guess clothing, who told his business attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, "You've got to do this for Mr. Goldman, and for all of us in LA." Daniel Petrocelli went over to Mr. Goldman's house and wasn't interested in taking on the project until he met with Mr. Goldman. Everybody should have walked through a doorway and been sent straight to Narnia if they cared more about getting their vanity pumped up by making an impression on people than about Nicole and Ron. You can just tell that Daniel Petrocelli was never interested in being a star. BTW Marciano grew up in France and Petrocelli grew up in New Jersey. I'm glad the Italians don't have to worry about a lot of negative stereotypes any more. My history teacher said it was a big deal when JFK was the first Catholic President. How dumb, we thought.

    • @DashDonivan
      @DashDonivan 2 місяці тому

      Evidence wasn't planted that was a fabrication. They used the race card in order to say don't look act the factual evidence just remember the lies.. and it worked perfectly. Still works now by the weak minded. Donald Trump goes all over the country with his lies and those uneducated believe it and give him money for it. It's insane!

    Can u imagine the karma the jury will get? They did not care about him viciously murdering two people & instead, they put the LAPD on stand! They should be very afraid. The lead detective on the OJ case said that Marcia had dozens of pieces of evidence and she refused to use them. It was a political trial & they wanted payback for what happened 2 yrs prior. Unbelievable

    @ 1:22:55 Hope this lady saw the documentary where one of the jurors ADMITTED she was never going to find OJ Simpson guilty, the non guilty verdict was “payback” for Rodney King and when asked if she thought that was right, shrugged her shoulders. Or maybe she saw the interview with another juror where she said she voted non guilty because she wanted to go home, Or did she not hear about the juror who gave OJ Simpson the “black power” salute as the jurors walked out?? The majority of the jury, but their own actions or admittance, were not able to render an unbiased verdict.

      @@songbird8404You probably didn't even know who Emmett Till was 10 years ago. Making a case that O.J.'s acquittal is a form of racial justice is totally ignorant. The Goldman and Brown families have literally nothing to do with racism in the deep South in the 1950s.

    Everyone in the world knows the butcher got free because of a joke of a justice system and stupid jurors who did not understand DNA or forensic evidence! How the lawyers who defended him sleep at night ,still escapes me. In every normal country with all that INSANELY overwhelming forensic evidence,the slaughterer would have been sentenced to life prison. But in America, the racial circus and everything that had nothing to do with the two innocents murdered, came to play. We in other countries watched lauging via tears ,disgusted and dismayed . This case was a sham of US justice.

    Kenneth Thomas of the LA Sentinel, as shown in this program, should be ashamed of himself. The real victims of this case were not treated justly and to say there are 3 families is horrible. Mr Simpson is no victim and all these years later we can see he IS the killer !!! Race had nothing to do with these killings.
