I think the 50 part is bs. In no way to me did it even sound like a 50. Nor did it rock the camera like a 50 would. No I’m not an expert but it sounds more like a 300 mag or 338 if anything.
Shot was way high and into the spine, practice at the range not in live animals. Respect what you kill and do it clean. Also 338 was way over the top caliba wise, maybe if that is what you are shooting get a 243 or 270. Americans wtf!

338 is a fine round for this. Just because you can't afford the ammo doesn't make it a bad tool for this job.
