I purchased this on VHS from the track in '97. It is not the complete race but does include the rollover contest during the mandatory pit stop.

This was the final Enduro event of the 1997 season. I only recorded the first segment of the race. Apologies for the sound. Too much wind noise for an old VHS camcorder bolted to the roof I guess.
Raceway Park Enduro Race of Champions Challengers Race 10-17-99

The Enduro Series at Raceway Park was averaging well over 100 cars per race in 1999. The season ending event was the Race of Champions where the Enduro drivers were split into two groups, Champions and Challengers. Then a third race with all survivors from the two races. This video is the 75 lap Challengers race.

At the final event of the year, Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN would run Powder Puff races after the Enduro events. The drivers would be split into two groups, experienced (meaning raced in a Powder Puff or any other race before) and non-experienced.

The always entertaining Figure-8 Trailer Race from Attitude RC & Hobbies (9/26/20). *Warning* sound is pretty quiet until cars hit the wall which is very loud because of where the camera was positioned. So I do not recommend turning the volume up to try and hear the racing.

Adam Radiske - thanks for posting. I had lost interest in racing until my son found this video and posted it on my Fb page about 2 years ago. It reinvigorated my love for Figure 8 racing, and I attended the 150-lap Outlaw Figure 8 World Final race in FL the past 2 years. Now I am looking forward to traveling from Long Island, NY to Indianapolis to attend my first World Championship 3-hour Enduro on September 8, 2018. Got my tickets, hotel reservations, and can't wait to cross it off my 'bucket list'. Hope to see you there! Thanks again :^)
Happy to hear that sharing my experience has helped re-spark your interest. The World 3 Hour at the Speedrome is definitely a must-see event. After going for my first time in 2014, I promised myself I'd never miss it. Now, with my wife being pregnant and due at any time, the 13hr road trip is out of the question. But I will be watching it through pay-per-view this year with hopes to pick up where I left off in 2019. Enjoy the race and the experience!

Adam, we did make it to the 2018 race and endured 2 days of rain delays. 2022 will mark our 5th straight year attending the 3 hour, the most exciting event on the planet. Hope you can make it!

All cars are electronically scored and have to go around all 4 of the yellow corner pieces for the lap to count. The few times I've been to the race, after 3 hours there is still at least a couple cars on the same lap (about 500 laps).
Pure anxiety
Outlaw Figure 8 racing is the most exciting form of Motorsports, and has fewer crashes than NASCAR - because the competitors are not intentionally crashing their opponents. NASCAR has become nothing more than a demolition derby, and taking out the leader is allowed.
How the HELL do these guys have the nerve to do this? I don't know but I'm sure glad they do I LOVE it. Thanks for posting :^)

Alot of "timing" and also luck is involved. Most of these drivers at this level have raced Figure 8 for a long time and have a lot of experience.

This race was the first figure-8 I had ever seen. Now I come back up from Atlanta every year for it. I think I counted maybe two collisions in the intersection during the whole three hours. Amazing. Amazing, and nerve-wracking!

Good gracious I'm 61 years old and this is the first I have ever heard of figure 8 racing. Well really I was watching American Pickers and one of the "Pickees" used to race which brought me here.

I made a theory for why some racers are "cheating". Now I don't know anything about Figure-8s so don't take my comment too seriously, but based on observation they aren't actually cheating. They are actually trying to "restart" the lap they are in. As said in previous comments the cars have electric transponders so they can never cheat the system. All they are doing is restarting the lap for another chance to pass through the middle intersection again. When you think about it, this type of motorsport actually requires a little more thought and strategy. Truly interesting
