    Apple's decision to put all the ports on the back of the Mini has always been a mystery. I actually have an old G4 Mini and a Belkin Hub, I put a longer cable on the hub so I could turn it around so the ports face forward. With the new Satechi hub and my newish Mini I should be good to go!

    • @JeffsWay.
      @JeffsWay. 3 дні тому

      I love my Apple products, but too many limitations have made me switch to a Windows PC for editing 4k video. Instead of 256GB, I now have 11TB to work with. I still use my Mac Mini setup everyday, it's just not the best tool for the job when dealing with a lot of large files. The Satechi hub fixes a lot of the issues, and is a must have in my opinion. Having the ports, and card readers on the front is game changing.

    Just bought a Sony ZV-E10 and i love it. Just owning the kit-lens for the moment. but it works. :) My next purchase will be the cage, to protect it, get a beefier grip and to extend with handle, screen etc in the future. Thanks for the video. :)

      @JeffsWay. 3 дні тому

      The ZV-E10 is a fantastic camera, you'll like it. The additional grip on the cage makes it feel better in the hand. If you are looking for a really good "all around" kit lens upgrade, I've been happy with the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. For vlogging and talking head type videos Sigma also makes a 10-18mm f2.8 that pairs very nicely with the 18-50mm.

    question. when you connect the gopro, is it possible to just flip out the fist part of the phone holder (where the cold shoe is) and attach a light onto the cold show while still having the gopro attached? I hope so!

    • @JeffsWay.
      @JeffsWay. 20 днів тому

      I'm a bit confused by the question, sorry. If we are talking about the MT-44 with built in phone holder, that one does not have a cold shoe. The only tripod in this list with a cold shoe is the MT-47 (desk / vlogging tripod), but it has a Acra Swiss mount. Ulanzi makes the MT-70 tripod (which I have no experience with), that one has a phone holder + cold shoe for a light. Hope that helps. Maybe someone else can comment on this?

      @whatsnottohike 19 днів тому

      @@JeffsWay. Hi. At the 2.24 mark, you flip the end of the phone mount and it looks like it's a cold shoe? Could a light be fitted to that, while the camera is also attached? That Portakeys monitor looks really nice. I have no use for one tho. Your channel gives me the vibe that you could use an external monitor with built in recording so you could do screen capture of device menus you are reviewing or doing a tutorial on, etc. I looked at the Portakeys website to see their entire list of field monitors, out of curiosity, but there was no way to sort by feature, or feature comparison grid; so am not sure if they offer one like I am describing.

      I priced out building a mid range gaming PC with a i5 and RTX 4060, and my parts estimate was $1,400 without Windows. This was $1,300 with the more expensive i7, and Windows already installed. Great hardware and compact package, you can even stick a 3.5 inch 8TB+ harddrive and never worry about storage

      I actually did that in a more recent video. 2 TB SSD, and a 8 TB HDD. I forgot how much slower physical HDD's were, lol. I guess it's fine for a storage drive! Thanks for watching!

    Just subscribed! What do you plan to do with the old Mac Mini? Also, if you feel up to it, you should experiment with dual booting a Linux distro like Pop OS, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint! It could be interesting to see how your workflow varies across the big 3 operating systems. Enjoy the sweet new computer ❤️

      It's being used in another room in the house. I do like Linux, so that would be interesting. Thanks!
