the building across the river is the Banff springs hotel. it was built in 1888. the Chateau lake Louise was built in 1890 both were originally built by the Canadian Pacific railroad.

I'm at Muncho Lake now. Strawberry Flats was full! The other campsite is full as well. I'm camped at the wildlife viewing area a few clicks north of SF as I type this.

this is my backyard ( i live in Edmonton about 3 1/2 hours east of Jasper.). the park is currently still closed due to the ( now out) wildfires.

the helocopters weren't water hauling. they were fighting wildfires in the area

caribou in Alberta are very rare. if you see one you're supposed to report it to Alberta fish & wildlife where you saw them, how many & all that good stuff. hope you enjoyed Alberta's rocky mountain national parks. Jasper is currently closed due to wildfires. should open up again the end of August (fingers crossed)

This campgrounds is owned by Mr and Mrs Winters. Mrs Winters was our music teacher in school and directed the choir at the United Methodist Church. They are nicest people you will ever meet. I grew up in Marysville. 😍

What is the date that you started the trip? Have you used the AC much? I am just wondering if we could boon-dock some. I currently have enough solar to run AC but have enough to keep batteries topped of for 12v use.

Welcome to Canada. You are going to enjoy your trip to Alaska. We've made the trip in our Class A a couple of times. Just go slow over the rough patches and keep your fuel topped up. Don't fret over the price of things along the way - it is what it is and worth every penny - oh in Canada we don't have pennies anymore - we round up or down - next to go the way of the dinosaur will be our nickels.
