Low Flow issues on Grohe Kitchen faucets
Hi Dude, Having a problem with the grohe red duo 30097DC0. Any chance we can replace the boiler hose. Now burst and leaking hot water inside my carcass. Please help.
Really need help here. The keys on the volume controls are off at 12 (pointing straight up). The backer plate chrome knob keyways are off at 4 . Line the keyways up to fit and the water is half way on. Cannot figure out what to do here. It appears in the videos that they just slide the backer plate on with no problem. Hopefully you can help. The unit works perfectly except for the backer plate not fitting correctly.Thank You Very Much.
Glad that I found this as my K7 arm is stiff. However, after removing the head, spring, sleev washer and hose, I just cannot lift the K46 734 arm off to expose the O rings. I've tried soaking it in WD40 and descaler, but it will not budge. I even tried to lift it with a car jack. Any ideas?
SAd that Grohe doesn't reply to comments in 2024
What is the size of the tool needed to remove the handle screw?
I have tried tightening 46732 on diagram but still getting a leak from there and above the arm. Any suggestions on next steps please?
@@darellmordue7994 Does it leak at same spot? Is any way you can upload a viedo showing the leak?
Flow restrictor?? **** that!
Is it safe to solder fittings on this unit? I'd rather use solder but need to make an immediate 90 degree bend after port B.
Thanks for the video. Had a question, is the 0 setting (neutral) hotter than 10? What’s the difference?
Is the blue-white color nut having a torque limiting mechanism built-in? When I tighten it a little bit more it just slips automatically. I am interested why placing the soft washer at upper side can help this. Does it act as a buffer so that the torque increase is smaller for the same amount of nut turning?
This is amazing how you explained in detail the exact problem I have. Thank you for the very helpful video.
How do I figure out the model number of my shower head?
You are able to figure out the model number unless you have the manual or invoice. Or you can send an email with the picture to warranty.ca@lixil.com for further assistance.
I am so far unable to remove part "S" which appears to just pull out, but mine is stuck. I tried WD-40 but so far no luck. Any ideas?
update: I reattached the faucet handle which gave me more of a grip and greater leverage, was able to pull it straight out. Overall, before replacing parts, I gently scraped and buffed off mineral deposits
Perfect thank you!! Exactly what I was looking for!
I have a K7 (approx 7 years old) that is now leaking from the braided hose. I contacted and ultimately received a replacement hose assembly from Lixil, but it isn't at all clear how to replace the end of the hose that attaches to the body of the valve assembly. Seems to be a slip fit brass sleeve, but I am not 100% sure and the exploded view diagram in my owner's manual doesn't really help. I am afraid to try to twist out with too much force and ruin my $800 kitchen faucet.I did slowly heat-up with a hair dryer, but no luck. What to do?
nice
What a joke ! This toy faucet has a dozen plastics parts that you must have assembled.
My faucet will only spray and I can’t get a stream. Can you help me with that?
Should the splines be pushed in or out when cutting ?
Needed be out when you go cutting.
Excellent video! Discovered that I had the white ring installed 180 degrees off. Be sure the "thick bump" is on the bottom!!!
it would be nice to see you actually show how to do this. you don't need youtube when there are instructions listed.
The valve button (on/off) for the shower has started sticking to the point where it will not pop out (turn on) (only two years of use) Do you have a video of how to replace the valve button? Or tips to fix it?
This video doesn't solve my problem: I've removed the old hose, but I cannot thread the new hose down the throat of the faucet that the old hose easily came out of. The new hose hits a "brick wall" about 5 inches in and won't turn the corner to go down underneath the cabinet. What am I doing wrong? FYI, I'm sure the replacement hose is the exact same one that was originally installed on this faucet. Could it be that you have to raise the lever to the open position in order for the hose to pass down? (which would mean, that you have to shut the water sources down, which I didn't need to do just to remove the old hose).
Hello Norma, I am really sorry to hear that you have some difficulties to insert new hose through the faucet. I will suggest to wiggling the spout while puting the hose throuhg. Or advsie the model number of the faucet, so that I can assist you further
Hi Dude, Thank you for your video. I need help with my existing Grohe Red Duo Faucet 30153DC0. My boiling supply line looked damaged as the metal Braided started to wary off. I want to know whether I could change just the supply line hose. As I was not able to locate any parts of it. Hope you can help on this matter. Greatly appreciated. Thank you
yeah, so this doesn't work, maybe in a perfect world, but not this one. 2 problems, 1. the old hose could not be removed without being cut because the threaded portion that the quick connect coupling attaches to is the same diameter as the brass stack that secures the faucet in place. after cutting and removing the defective hose, the new hose has the same problem and cannot be fed through the brass stack. anyone else experience this?
I suggest not cutting the flex hose. The Grohe representative told me to cut it but I thought it would be jagged and even harder to pull through. I had the idea of spraying the very end of the hose with white lithium grease. I did that and let it set for a minute. I started pulling it and it slipped past the metal stack at the top. The new one slipped through with no problem. My faucet is over 20 years old and there is probably some crusty stuff in the hose stack. Hope the grease trick might work for others.😊
But how to unscrew the cap as it has been on 12 years and not much to grip. trying heating. no result
similar problem. I used WD 40 and let it soak in for 5 minutes
Hi! Very helpful video, thank you! i have a replacement head for my Grohe pull-out sprayer with filter basket and green water regualtor (with NO instructions) but i can't seem to push the little water regulator thing all the way down in the spary head before i try and attach it to the hose. Any suggestions? Or is this best answered by Grohe support?
A video demonstration: ua-cam.com/video/JEhBcLEsD_U/v-deo.html
If you reverse hot and cold stay away from plumbing .
Great video. My Ladylux suddenly developed a streaming hot water leak from the spout...as if the hot water was partially open. I replaced the cartridge with a genuine Grohe one, but the leak was unchanged. I suspect that it is leaking internally behind the flat plate that the cartridge seals against. I see that it appears screwed on. Is it removable and are there replaceable seals back there? The parts diagram doesn’t appear to show this part. Any suggestions? I’d hate to have to replace the whole faucet for this. Thanks for your attention.
what is the cartridge replacement part number? thanks
I have the same problem as David. I removed the set-screw but the handle doesn't come out. Is there something else has to be done before the handle can come out? Please help!
Thanks for this video. Is there a trick to removing the handle after you remove the set-screw? Should it pull right out? Mine seems to be stuck, or clipped into position... HELP!
Tap on the end of the handle with a rubber mallet. Hit it in the direction the allen screw came off. It gets jammed on there with corrosion and deposits
It worked exactly as you described thank you. is it possible just to replace the O ring?
Hello Janette, if you fing the right size o-ring , then you can. As far as I know, Grohe doesn't stock the o-ring as a spare part, but the entire hose is available
Problem solved. Sprayer filter/screen filled up with junk when water was turned back on. Cleaned it out and everything seems fine.
I installed a new cartridge. Fits perfectly, but I am barely getting any hot or cold water out at the sprayer. Very little. The water supply lines are not leaking, the water is turned all the way up, the sprayer hose is connected and not leaking, but very little water is coming out. Something is wrong. The three water/valve holes are lined up perfectly. Any suggestions?
what is the difference between this item and GROHE Rapido SmartBox - 35600000
Sorry for the long delayed reply. 35600000 is European version, the connection threads are Metric
The information provided is better than nothing, but it sure would have been better if he had actually shown how to perform this fix rather than just talking about it. Years ago, a Grohe tech walked me through this process. For the life of me I cannot recall if it can be done while the faucet is installed on the deck. Also, it would be a really good idea to turn off the water to the faucet before attempting this repair.
I’m trying to fix a leak from the handle. I was able to remove the screw from the handle but I cannot remove the handle. There is a Grohe video that shows the handle coming right off. But mine seems to be “locked” in somehow. Any idea how to remove the handle?
If the handle is seized after removing the set screw, I would suggest to use a hairdryer to warm up the handle 10 to 15 minutes with medium heat.
Everything set up correctly but no cold water??? Any tips?
Hello Frank, I will suggest to perfomr a calibration on the cartridge.
Thank you for this very helpful video!
You are very welcome Graham.
Hi, The builders got the smartbox roughed-in a bit too deep, over the 105mm mark after the tiling. I found about the extension kit (Part 14048000), will this allow to fit the control module without having to rip it all apart and reinstall?

Hi there Where can I purchase the cartridge?
Hello Souhaib, you can call 18886447643 to order the cartridge
I tried to follow your instructions for removing a 46.413 supply line that is recessed into the bottom of a Europlus 33.939 kitchen faucet by rotating the tabs counter clockwise but could not get it out. Can you please be more explicit?
Hey Jeffrey, just need to keep pushing the tabs counterclockwise until the hose screws itself off. I have to admit it is time comsuming job
Nice job! the first video I see with more or less the same installation method for the waterpipes. I also want to solder my 15mm coper waterpipes. As well as both inlet pipes as 2 outlet pipes. I will also put the blind stop in outlet A. Did you solder the inlet and outlet while the 1/2" to 15mm copper pipe was allready in place? I suspect that it becomes way too hot for the smartbox (and it is no good for the sealing stuff on the threads as well). So I think you did the soldering first, before screwing them into the 1/2" sockets of the box. My problem is that I my pipe from outlet C has to cross the pipe from outlet B, as my handshower will be on the left of the box. (shame that I cannot use A outlet). The same crossing of pipes will happen when Installing the hot water side. That makes it a real effort to get this thing installed as all pipes must be in place, before I can install it inside the wall (I am not mounting it like you, it will come into a wall which has depth 100mm, so that is also a challenge when cutting away the stones, as only 2,5cm of stone will be left. The smartbox needs fixing screws as well. I do not have a solution for this right now, how to do it. Maybe glue the box to the wall?))
I have almost exactly the same question with soldering near the valve. Did you answer it? I might contact Grohe customer support.
do you have a suggestion how to convert the 10 mm grohe water supply line to regular American supply line?
Where do you get the tool to take apart my clogged shower head?
If it's covered under warranty , you can call Grohe Canada 18886447643 to order it under warranty, otherwise, it can be ordered from below link, www.amazon.ca/Grohe-Replacement-Part-46711000-Control/dp/B006WO1SSQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=46711000&qid=1639953468&sr=8-1 Good luck with it
installing this "retro fit" rain head shower head is soooo difficult, you'll pull your hair out during the whole process
I AGREE.
literally teh worst instructions I've ever seen in a "quality" product.
@@serebo1 yea…it’s so over engineered and made sooo complicated, and I say this as somebody who does remodels and repairs etc for a living lol
grear video...thanks!!!
You are very welcome Joan
Hello there, I am having exactly the same Grohe tub sprout in the picture that showing in the video. The problem is mine diverter button could not hold down when I turn to hot water. However it is able to hold down when I turn to cold water. Would you please help me with that. Should I replace the diverter valve or the whole tub sprout ? Thank you
it tells me the pressure of hot water is lower than the cold water. You can try to increase the hot water pressure or change the diverter, which should be able to fix the issue.
Did it work ? Kindly advise
