Automation: 5-minute Flow to automate the creation of standardized sub-folders
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
In today's episode we address the user story: "I want standardized sub-folders to be automatically deployed every time my team creates a top-level folder." This is a very common ask of those teams that require a rigid folder structure - think Contracts, Legal and Business Development. This video demonstrates how in 5 minutes you can not only create a Flow that accomplishes the stakeholder ask, ...

SharePoint: Using Automation to create folders with unique access
Переглядів 1104 роки тому
In today's episode we address a Reddit user's post titled "Creating 200 folders using a list or CSV." www.reddit.com/r/sharepoint/comments/ithtka/creating_200_folders_using_a_list_or_csv/ The only suggestion I would make to the OP is that unique permissions at the folder level can be an administrative burden down the road - particularly in a scenario where a given library has upwards of 200 fol...
I've a flow that creates a New Folder in Documents when a new item is added to a List. A Hyperlink to the Document folder is also generated and added to list. However, we'd like to have a consistant subfolder structure when the new folder is created. Is this possible?
this is literally what i'm trying to solve- did you have a luck?
It worked, thanks.
super helpful! i wanted an option where when a folder itself is created in SharePoint the sub-folders are nested. regardless, it was quite easy and the best video i found for this process.
I have other issue - Im able to add the plan but the plan is not visible on the navigation bar section. how to fix it please?
Is it possible to embed a button(Create Folder) in document library so that the user can initiate folder creation from the document library rather than go to Power Automate Flows dashboard? Thanks
came here looking for the same thing
I wish there was some magnification on the screen. Otherwise, good walkthrough. Very helpful!
The best solution was to manually trigger a flow within power automate? That's hard to believe, sir
Thanks, helps a lot
Hi, for the edit/view I think you can create a choice column as you said, then you put a condition to check that value. If true you put a 'grant access to an item or a folder' with the value can edit else you put the same but with the value can view.
thank you Mykey. This video help me so much
is it possible to add rights and/or authorisations for different members?
I need some help in creating neasted folder structure under every channel created under the teams
hi! where can I get the SubFolderAutomation? I get stuck at that particular step! thank you!
i believe SubFolderAutomation is the name of the folder he created in which he creates subfolders
Hi, thanks for the video. Could you show me here or in Reddit, what is the flow you used along with the Sharepoint list in the video? I am trying to replicate the Sharepoint list you used so that I can have an audit log of my approvals and rejections that is more robust than what is already provided by Microsoft. From what I've gathered so far, in order to update every field in the list, I need a new action in my flow, probably with "Update file properties" or "update item". So I just wanted to see your flow so I could confirm that, and get some ideas on how to customize mine. Thank you!
Good info but video is unreadable and takes away from the potential value. Please consider a lower screen size for better readability. Thanks.
Thank you for the feedback
Thanks so much for the video, I responded to you over at Reddit.
