Thank you so much! I love the quality of your videos and appreciate you putting the road names and speed limits ❤️
What the hell is a road stud
Road studs are reflectors that are used to mark out lanes and the edges of roads.
@DrivetimeMedia oh if you had said reflectors than I would of known, they're usually yellow
@@Ngc-ve7tb Yes, but there are other colours: - white studs mark the lanes or the middle of the road - red studs mark the left edge of the road - amber studs mark the central reservation of a dual carriageway or motorway - green studs mark the edge of the main carriageway at lay-bys and slip roads - green/yellow studs indicate temporary adjustments to lane layouts (e.g. where road works are taking place)
@@DrivetimeMedia thanks for the info
Aka Mirror signal manoeuvre
Breathe a sigh of relief. The bus stopping means they are not currently involved in a breakneck chase where the bus has to maintain speed like in the movie "Speed".
At least use a UK road for the video
Fair point. Thank you.
Calculate the mass of the sun
A tip add more questions and make the video shorter
Thanks for the tip.
Keep it up ... Some car drivers are too lazy to think. I hope these video will kick their butt to get their brain engaged.
B
Correct
There are many sigh s you have to stop to read and if you stop you are breaking other rules and get penalties by camera capture
Especially signs that have an accompanying plate.
Youahould do one about cyclists stopping g atred lights and remain behind the white line. I think rule 165
It's actually Rule 71. Will get that up soon. Thanks.
@DrivetimeMedia I was close, considering it was totally of the top of my head
@@geordieboy5679 I've published Rule 71. Have a look: ua-cam.com/users/shortsB6JOLIETcFk
Can you do the roundabouts and lane markings for test routes I get confused on when I need to be in the middle lane to turn right and be in the last lane
Sure. I hope to do that in the coming weeks.
It's hard to believe there are so many idiots who think it's illegal to undertake and if there's a hogger in lane 27 you must only overtake by moving over to lane 28 and back again to lane 1 🤣🤣🤣😂
Horses belong in fields not roads the cruel people that force them to go on them should be banned from keeping animals
please upload others especially with roundabout lanes in basildon, looking for a test
Will do. Meanwhile, there are a few more test routes here: www.youtube.com/@DrivetimeMedia/playlists
Please upload more test rute videos
Sure. I will be uploading more. Meanwhile, there are 9 here: www.youtube.com/@DrivetimeMedia/playlists
could you share gpx file if possible?
I actually don't have GPX files for these routes.
that's a poor question. There's not always going to be someone around
but cyclists can cut off cars no problem
I don't find this useful, waste of time watching this
Thanks for your observation.
This is not the way to teach people, there is too much music in the background, instead of some explaining the routh
Your point is noted. Thank you.
2:05 that’s correct, as per rule 130 of the Highway Code, the only time you can legally cross a solid white line is on a single carriageway at the end of an overtaking lane where 2 lanes reduce to 1 for any of the reasons mentioned for double white lines, I even corrected a driving instructor on UA-cam about this, similar to this video he was explaining what the different white lines in the middle of the road mean, he said if there are hatched markings on the road surrounded by solid white lines you can’t wait in it to turn right but you can wait outside them and then turn right across them when it’s safe to do so, I said to him no, it’s emergency use only, no idea why he thought that but it’s pretty concerning that he is teaching his learner drivers to do something illegal.
What car owner leaves their car running and unattended? 😂 They wont have a car for long. They need to update the highway code.
😀
who cares
I turned into our road from a busy carriageway only to be confronted by an angry jogger who appeared out of the evening gloom. No hi vis so he was invisible against the oncoming headlights. My question is are pedestrians (walking) the same as joggers (running) I think I rather stop at the curb and asses whether it's safe to cross than step in front of a vehicle just because I have the right of way and be run over. Just saying
Yes, as a pedestrian (running or walking), I would wait on the kerb and allow traffic to pass. And as a driver, I would scan the junction to check for pedestrians. I would then try to make eye contact with any pedestrians, or just observe their body language to assess if they would step onto the road.
Send then try and cross a road this does not happen
Rule 160 of the Highway Code :- once moving you should - keep to the left, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise, the exceptions are when you want to overtake, turn right or pass parked vehicles or pedestrians in the road.
Thanks for your video.
Thank you
Believe it or not this is actually one of the nicer parts of Basildon.
The only exception to crossing a solid white line to enter a hatched area is on a single carriageway at the end of an overtaking lane, on a single carriageway at the end of an overtaking lane where 2 lanes reduce to 1 you may cross the solid white line in the centre of the road to enter the hatched area for any of the reasons mentioned for double white lines (to access premises or a side road, to pass a stationary vehicle, to overtake a cyclist horse or road maintenance vehicle doing 10mph or less).
If i get anything similar to this test route on the 18th then im no longer worried lol
It's quite an uncomplicated route.
road is road. just drive
@@DrivetimeMedia glad to say i passed, i went through old laindon/Laindon High Road and was on the A127 up to the Nevendon roundabout before heading back to test centre
Very informative
By the way is it not illegal to park adjacent to a double white line forcing traffic to cross the line?
I guess that depends on whether there are any restrictions on the 'adjacent' place.
@@DrivetimeMedia A double white line is the same as a double yellow at the side.
Well done you should explain the meaning of things written in bold type in the highway code like the word MUST in this example. Because it means that it is an offence not to.
You're correct to point this out. I will include it in the description.
Does a blue street sign mean anything?
I guess it depends on the sign itself. If it's a blue traffic or a road sign, then it should mean something. But if it's just a street name, then that's just what it is.
Thanks. Some one keeps telling me I'm not allowed on a loop in my Neighbor hood and they said the sign being blue meant it was private but no it's just a regular street named "tullamore"
You need to do one on rule 188 mini roundabouts, as this is the one most people are wrong about when asked!
Thanks for highlighting this. I will do.
Can you make more videos Basildon test route please
Are there any one way streets or stop signs in any of the Basildon routes?
I haven't seen a STOP sign on the test routes I have recorded.
very benefical, thx for the effort
Glad it was helpful!
Hi thanks for the video its very helpful i have my test at 3.20 on a Wednesday which route should i focus on please
These are very helpful. Could you please also add the speed limits on all of the videos?
Very informative video! Here are a few more confusing ones I could find - Roundabout / Mini-Roundabout - Crossroads / Two Way Traffic Crosses One Way Road - Loose Chippings / Fallen Rocks - Temporary Lane Closure / No Through Road - No Parking On Verge / Soft Verges - Recommended Route For Pedal Cycles / Route For Pedal Cycles Only - Tramway / Route For Trams Only - Low Flying Aircraft / Side Winds - Hump Bridge / Tunnel - Steep Hill / Slow Moving Vehicle on Incline - Quayside or Riverbank / Water Course Along Road - Cattle in Road / Wild Animals in Road - Hospital / Fire Hydrant - Vehicle Testing Station / Radioactive Substance - Home Zone / Quite Lane
Thank you
You're welcome
Hi would it be ok to ask if you have any routes with commentary on them please 😊
Thank you for your observation. At the moment, we do not have any routes with commentary. But this is something we will consider doing in the future. Regards.
Is this a car test route or a motorbike route please
This is an actual Basildon car driving test route.
Are these videos to show just the test route for students to then practice themselves in those areas or is it also to show how to actually drive them to pass test standard? (i.e roundacre roundabout)As i saw lanes being selected in over taking lanes but then not overtaking anyone then moving over after. This isnt to criticise just to ask question as my students were asking. thank you
Hi, the test routes are for learners to have a first-hand view of what each route looks like. It is not intended or recommended to be viewed as the correct way to drive on the routes. Thank you.
Thank you very much for clarifing for me. Btw videos are helpful thank you.
Thank so much
Thank you so much, very educative and easily so
Your driving at roundabouts is not learner friendly. For example, when you are taking 4th exit at 5:19, it helps a great deal if you are next to the left kerb just after 3rd exit so you can easily enter 4th exit into the left lane.
SHOW ME TELL ME Questions & Answers: The driving test examiner will ask you two questions, from 21 vehicle safety questions (show me tell me questions). One of those questions will be asked before you drive off from the driving test centre. You will then be asked another question while you are driving, after you leave the driving test centre. While responding to this second question (which is usually a show me question), try not to lose your focus and your concentration on the road ahead.
