ev are junk dot lie
I wasn’t sure about buying an EV as my next car ,,,,,,But I am Now
Great breakdown biscuit
Instead of more space in the back there should be 2 extra kids seats
Why on why oh why do presentations have to have distracting background music? The same goes for tv programmes. Who thinks this is a good idea because I can't imagine what it brings to the quality when all I want to hear is the narrative!
wtf is this . Sound like dog shit for a Ferrari
The video wasn't helpful. I didn't bother going to the article.
What an interesting guy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
yeah, i cant get behind that gear selector. main reason why i didnt get one. and its a very petty reason... but no thanks.
$20 million Bro
That's pretty crap reliability and longevity for such an expensive vehicle. The seals on my IC car don't fail at those low mileages. Seems to me the EVs are little bundles of expensive trouble. I'll wait 10 years until they iron the bugs out... if they ever do.
I would love to see what you guys would do with a Rivian. They're just so new though.
How much was the swap ? I’m thinking of getting a used leaf
Lithium batteries and their durability continue to amaze me. I have so many that continue to perform very well after 15 years.
It’s a el darado
Would be even better without anoying music loop. Thanks!
After watchihg this video why in the hell would anyone want to own an electric vehicle ???
These must be dangerous to work on. ⚡️ ⚡️gotta know what you’re doing.
When we bought a house, our new house was 5 minutes from our rental. I moved everything in my 6 1/2 ft bed over the course of several dozen trips. We were gonna rent a uhaul but the movers had a family emergency come up so we said fuck it and did it ourselves. I think the Maverick, or a ranger, is all most people need. I like my full size but a maverick or mid size suits 99% of most people and is what I plan to get in a few years
Excellent video, the lack of indoctrination about Ecar is appalling in the uk . So well done to you guys . Great explanation of how you work on the item, no should down to is in an exaggerated American speak . Explanation done in a soft but understandable way . I wish the GB had a garage like yours. Im sure your business will go from strength after this excellent youtube presentation..
They dont mention this in their EV vs ICE calcs thinking🤔🧐
Sounds to be built like crap the Germans should be doing all the engineering
Only fools who want to say "look at me" will buy an electric truck. How stupid can you get to pay two or three times the asking price of a truck that is already more than it is worth. I hope all you do is charge it at home and drive it around the neighborhood thinking how cool (fool) you look, because they are not work vehicles.
It's the best car made for the money. Period.
FYI @WeberAuto took apart a 2016 P90D motor and it had the new bearings.
Great information and video. This shows more reason to avoid owning/buying a Tesla. I for one, will avoid this brand and its 1st gen disastrous cars.
Who said EVs are cost effective??? Oh Yes, the democrats, liberals, Biden Voters!!! 15K battery, leaky drive unit 5K…etc
Better for the environment my ass
Naturally it's glued. A scam. It's a rich man's throw away toy.
Bad
I hate the very Annoying Background Music 👎🏻
Change coolant to oil, and replace the seals which can be sourced out, also the bearings as well... And you got your self a reliable motor.
@9:23- " Tesla used to offer unlimited mileage warranty" Unlimited mileage warranty used to make this a good buy.
This is why i will never buy an EV car i stay with Petrol it's cheaper ....less headaches than EV.
lol every repair is 5k plus? so how are u saving money? i've owned my camry since 2011 and have spent less then 1k on repairs
The fact that Tesla won’t do the work to figure out what cell or what module needs replacing and just just tell everyone to replace the entire battery is the reason I’ve said you couldn’t GIVE/GIFT me an ev.
Now that I am retired and don’t do much driving. Leaving a car for a week not driving, over the long term will that harm the battery ? They seem to talk in terms of mileage, if 2,000 a year- after 10 years that would be 20,000 miles. Will the battery be in good shape to use more then 10 years ? What is the life of a battery in years and not miles. Battery life is what the issue
I’ve got a 2018 GTI manual. I cringe when I see it in automatic.
Toys are not designed to be serviced. When you break one, just throw it away and get a new one. If that game is too expensive for your taste, then you won't survive what's coming down the pipeline
Just to expensive to own and fix
For me this is a strange feeling. I have never been afraid to fix anything on my car (luckily nothing too crazy, especially since I've bought Lexus, no issues ever....BUT These EV's while interesting, I don't want to Die with high voltage. Those tips about seals is a good one. Here in Ontario Canada, I see Used Tesla model 3 being sold used at a HUGE used car dealership for $30k to $40k. having about 25K MILES. Perhaps they're coming off lease? Perhaps they have an issue and the owner wants to get rid of it before a costly repair is needed? Since the price of batteries are falling like crazy, I would assume the repairs are going to be much cheaper in the future. ALSO, if you purchase a battery pack, technology could mean faster charging, increased Energy Density and like the LFP battery, I believe that one can be charged to 100% with no issues at all. Possible that the vehicle would become MUCH BETTER than it was when new. I know there is an option in the menu which will do a detailed test on the battery, somewhere in the Service Menu. I would just feel comfortable when I know exactly what's wrong with something all the time. Today with my son, I heard a noise.. Told my son, that's a Power steering pump. Then another noise on another car... That was an idler pully. On electric, not sure. I'd feel like a "girl" not knowing these things.
EM fields affect the body and more importantly the brain. High EM levels can alter perceptions. Ever wonder why "ghost hunters" carry an em reader? ghosts arent real but the effects of high em can cause brain issues. Now use an em reader on an active tesla then inside.
That is amazing! I have never paid £20000 on a car in my life. I think if you added up every single one I have ever owned they wouldn't come to that much, certainly less than £50000 for the lot! It is a different world.
Great video, the EV cult members always over-simplify things
Making things simple is a good thing.... Defuc are you on about?
Very insightful. I like your shop
when the battery pack becomes the size of a suit case and not part of the car body. sorry Mr Musk then and only then will the EV become interesting
Then you'll have to wait... When will the ICE have 1000 bhp, do 1L/100km and won't emit harmful exhaust?
it would be perfect for taxi/ uber/ grab/ lyft/ bolt drivers who have say a sibling or spouse who drives as well. imagine drivinf 5 hours then rest/ charge 1 hour, then drive another 5, charge 1 hour, then the second driver repeats. the car would be operating basically almost 24/7 making money. that'll be super cool and efficient.
This clearly dispels the myth that no one can work on electric cars because they are too complicated. Actually in some ways the exact opposite considering how few moving parts are in a model s drive assembly. No doubt this type of work will need a special skill set but it doesn’t appear that any open minded competent mechanic couldn’t master. And the word is “open minded” because if some existing mechanics don’t change their view point they may not have a job soon.
Electric drivetrains are more simple then ICE drivetrains. Just keep the main battery fuse off and you'll be fine.
