Hi, what are the easiest degrees and modules i could go for, please?

Hi I’m starting this October and I’m just wondering do you have to join the live meetings, I’m just worried about the times trying to balance it with work and kids thanks

I procrastinate too much and ended up doing my tmas for w111 the night before I had to submit it, once even on the day I had to submit it -_-

I must admit that I use chat gpt to make notes for me out of the unit material and then I write them by hand in my notebook. because it's hard for me to remember things I've just read and I'm not that good at making my own notes..but I do think I should try to practice making my own notes

I just finished studying w111 (part time) (I started in february and ended on tuesday) I regret not putting enough effort as I started it because I ended up getting very behind and I still have stuff to catch up on and I start again with w112 in october so I need to catch up! I think it's important to not only try to get the best marks but to actually make sure that I actually remember what I'm learning. it's one thing to get good grades but then not actually knowing the material without using notes -_- also study up on how to use the IRAC since you'll need it in your tmas and also as a lawyer that's probably what you'll do most of the time.

I love these videos so much! Im starting a criminology and law module soon but I really want to focus on Law more so next module could I do that instead of criminology and law? Im doing open uni as well and its so exciting but overwhelming!

I am so relieved to hear there is templates when you start! I start in October and been out of education for AGES so that has actually made me sigh with relief haha!

Heyyy! Would love to hear more about how time consuming it is as you progress through your degree? I think this knowledge is what a lot of people are looking for. I would be like you - attempting to study smart and not hard! I will be working pretty much fulltime and studying part time. My mental health is historically not the strongest with study pressure. I have a lot of breakdowns and then it affects my self worth and I just spiral. I’ve never had these issues just in the workforce. Thank you so much for your videos! ❤️

Hi hi, I am looking to apply to Open University's 1-year certificate program to prepare for a master's degree. The master's degree admission requires around 30 credits of relevant studies, and Open University's certificate gives 120 credits for these subjects. My question is, are they counting credits the same way? FYI: the master's degree that I'm interested in asks for 120 credits within 2 years of full-time study and thesis takes up 30 credits.

I started febraury 2024 with this module

Im about to finish my second honours degree with the OU,,,first degree was BA open and second a BSc environmental science. Both are great but I found the subject knowledge gained as you go through the levels on the named subject degree made it less of an headache. The open degree was more difficult for me in changing a level and more subject category than you would in named degree. I found the jump from level 1 -2 and 2-3 very significant and not to be underestimated when making degree choice. Wishing you well with yours.

Hi, would anyone recommend doing the Business Management and Marketing degree with OU? I have also heard that OU standards have dropped in 2023, is this true? I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks!

So with the final grade of stage 1 not counting towards the overall degree ranking (ie distinction etc) does that mean that it doesn’t matter what you get at all in the first stage or do you still have a pass mark percentage? Like do you have to achieve 40% overall in stage 1 to be able to move on to the second stage ?

I have had more bashed up books than that one was. I have had them water damaged by being left by the bins!! that was just bent!

What is Cornell notes? Is it a specific style of writing notes like a certain template or something?

Unfortunately I have to wait another here before studying at this good university but in the meantime I get informed.

Hi Ella, I’ve just seen your video. I’m currently doing the Y032 access course and am registered for W111 and DD105 from October 2023. I’ve done the access course as otherwise I’d have had a gap in study because of the funding rules. How have you found W111 so far? I’d love to keep in touch if you’re interested in doing so. Did you know the TMA questions at the start of the course or are they released later on? Just in case you’re wondering, I’m 42 and live in Loughborough 🙂

Yeah I got a distinction first year too. Unfortunately it's a complete waste of time and doesn't contribute anything to your final grade. and the ramp up in standards and expectations is nuts going into year 2 with precisely no support or communication about those expectations. Also for those that don't know the tutors cant take drafts, won't ask specific questions, cant look at your work, or really be of any use whatsoever. Imagine calling a friend to be a sounding board and then they tell you to Google it. That's the experience of having an OU "Tutor"

Hi Dear. I have a question. For instance student finance give money for only three years. I have head that the majority of students at Open University study in part -time which is six years. Now who is going to pay for another three years of the course? because as I said earlier on we receive many only for three years not for six years? thank you. Amazing video.

this is so helpful! im starting my OU course in 6 days and ive been really anxious about what to expect

I was stressing so badly about the 36 hours per week they estimated. To the point I was ready for cancelling my course before it even started (signed up in April so had 5 months to stew over it lol) After a few weeks I realised I only need about 6 hours per week to get above 75% on the TMA’s. Now I’ve worked out the exam structure and what they’re looking for. Now I’m just doing the essays because they literally give you the page numbers you need to use. Realistically I’m spending all my time on essays instead of learning everything. That said, I did read the books before the course started so there’s no point re-reading things that aren’t even in the exams. Psychology 1st year in case anyone is wondering
