      I think it's Kay & Stoxx feat. Mary Jeras - Ain't nobody (M.A.D 2013 rework) If it's not, it's some sort of cover/remix of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody."

  • @Liftm0re
    @Liftm0re 11 років тому

    No, it's ridiculously easy to add hip contact back into the snatch and replace the original positions. The pull is virtually identical. Also, even if it did mess with my pull a little bit, I'm not concerned as currently I'm in an extended strength phase. Technique will come quickly once my program starts to target the classic lifts again. Thanks for the comments!

  • @8acun
    @8acun 11 років тому

    Thanks for reply! Are you concerned at all about interfering with the motor pattern of your regular snatch?

  • @Liftm0re
    @Liftm0re 11 років тому

    It teaches you to finish with the arms. I was told that the arms are underutilized in weightlifting due to early teachings of using legs, hips, and keeping the arms loose. While this works for the first and second pull, afterward the bar must be continually pulled with the arms and actively put in place into the finishing position. My snatches have dramatically improved after muscle snatch work without hip contact.

  • @8acun
    @8acun 11 років тому

  • @Liftm0re
    @Liftm0re 11 років тому

    Thanks for the support! Last program I did a variation of both lifts 5 days a week and on the sixth day I still did a variation of the snatch. Current cycle is more strength based, so the classic lifts are done three times a week and are separated over those days. The other three days are basically comprised of olympic style deadlifts (snatch grip, clean grip, med grip, from deficit), pulls, squats, presses, and back accessory work. In order to maintain good technique, you need a STRONG base.

  • @Liftm0re

    By removing the hip contact in the muscle snatch, you are forced to pull the bar VERY forcefully with your arms in order to move it high enough to press above your head. Despite what you may have heard about the usage of the arms in the snatch, after you explode off your hips, you must forcefully pull under the bar and press it above your head, both of which are primarily arm and shoulder movements. This exercise strengthens both, and has personally made my lifts much faster and more precise.
