Just an observation regarding this stance, The entire time the person who was on top was open to be punched in the face.

Glad I've found this channel. It's great to see people making videos on this stuff after Craig Jones invented leg riding. JK :) I do end up sometimes in the low Khabib ride you showed, were my partner doesn't actually sit up. Would you climb up anyway or change position? Also, I love that shelf from sidecontrol at 3:45, definitely going to try it. Do you set up other leg rides with it, or is it just to tire your partner out for a bit and then do something else?
If they don't sit up, I will usually transition to a leg ride mount so I can better access the upper body and look to isolate a limb or turn them belly down. From the side control shelf they will often try to turn away, which provides an opportunity to split the legs belly down.
