Thanks for this, confirmed my suspicion. Just replaced a cps for customer, old one was melted identical to your customers. I assumed it had happened over time/ years because it was on the cold side. Test drove, all good. Customer got the motorway, cps failed again. I strongly suspected hot gas being the culprit but was scratching my head like you guys because it's on the cold side but as you point out the hot gasses are traveling through the bell housing. I am now 100% confident I will find either a hole or a crack in the dpf, inspecting it tomorrow. Thanks again, you saved me a ton of time.

Had mine replaced recently by Litchfield. The irony is, if you take your car to BMW for a service with a replacement crank hub, despite the fact the replacement crank hub is far stronger and better engineered they will tell you it invalidates the warranty, as they expect you to replace it with another original inferior crappy BMW sourced crank hub... Crazy what they will do to get out of a honouring a warranty.

I’ve just had my turbo go on my 2.0tdi Audi, now apparently the car had no oil when the garage checked do I need to get them to replace the pick up pipe and oil pump as well? Or can they just replace the turbo and it should be okay?

Hey, will this work with 2011 n55 first generation?

a little late here but im currently tackling rod bearings on my n55. dealing with the oil pump currently. did you pin the chain tensioner or just pop off the oil pump sprocket + how did you get the sprocket back on the pump?
