A very nice looking train set on a wonderful layout.
My new favorite set! Looks great on your layout Don!
@@DanM19929 Hey Dan. I do believe this was the first and only time I ran the set! It does look good. Saturday is only 3 days away!
I just watched it myself again. That was 2 years ago and then lived on the shelf. Soon time to have it run the rails again.
What an impeccable and superb layout. Clean, functional, and full of great scenes to look at. Do you have a modeling team or is this all your hard work?
@@glendenig9962 Hello Glen. Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you liked the video. To answer your question, I built it ALL myself!

I have this set as well. I love it. I hate i missed an opportunity to buy two of those conrail E8s that matched off ebay to add to this set. I would love to find a b-unit to match or buy one and find a way to paint and decal it to match. Still. Great. Also i agree. These cars should have figurines in the cars.
@@jacobdeaton1602 hello Jacob. Thanks for the comment and I am glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, unfortunately, the extra E8’s are almost impossible to find. But keep looking. I found mine a few years ago at a local show. You just never know. Someday I will add people,to the interiors!

Awesome Donald. Very spooky.

Happy Halloween!!! Also video Don. Great job showing off the features and sounds. Supper happy you added it to your collection. Stu at METCA hit a home-run on this.
great video, i am working on a Halloween video myself
I'll check it out! This time of year is always fun for me with the Halloween and Christmas trains. Thanks for watching.
Cool! That is a nifty little train for Halloween. Nice detail and the sounds are quite nice. It was a great time meeting you at York, after all this time. It was a fine way to cap off the evening, over at the club. The modular is superb, with some really fine trains running. Thanks for sitting down and chatting with me about editing. Great information on how to start making my videos better. It was a good York, all the way around. An excellent video, as always.
Hello John. Yes, I agree. It was great to meet you in person after all our “social media” discussions. Thanks for taking the time to visit the Club. I enjoyed our chat. Good luck with the editing. Start out small, master the basics and then move on.
Always a treat when we take a minute to stop counting rivets and run some trains for the kids (grandkids?). Building memories with the next generation of railroaders is a part of the hobby I think we all can stand to do more of. As always, excellent content and we appreciate your time and efforts. Best to you and yours. Keith/Hou, Tx.
Thank you Keith for the kind words. They are so true. You have seen my videos. I do love the scale stuff for sure. However, when Halloween and Christmas roll around, I have no problem running my Halloween and Christmas trains. Take care.
Love that flying witches car! Never seen that one before. Very spooky!
I agree. That car is one of my favorites. If I am not mistaken, it is a 2024 issue from MTH. Thanks for watching.
Cool Halloween trains Donald.
Thanks Hunter. A little different for me. But I like the Halloween and Christmas trains. I have quite a few Christmas trains and plan to run them all this year!
Woo hoo. What a cutie!

Very Nice, wish I could but can't make it this time. Give my best to all the guys.
So cool, Don. I’ll try to stop by on Thursday, if possible. I’m looking forward to York, for sure. It will cap off my summer, as I head back home from my long vacation. Hopefully, I’ll see you there. I’ll probably be hanging with Ray and the other 3R/4D guys, for a bit. I need to pick some brains on video editing, of which I have no clue about. Good Morning Don, These cars are my favorite of your collection. They look fantastic going down the tracks. Another great running session. Have a great day! (Frank)
Hello Frank. Thanks again for watching. The double stacks are also some of my favorites. Take care.
Hello Don Great video thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry I haven't had time to respond, we bought a home out in the country with a huge basement. I of course will be building my dream train layout. Of course your layout will be an inspiration for me. Thanks Don for all that you do.
Welcome back! Hey Michael, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Good luck with your new home. That basement sounds fantastic! I appreciate your kind words too, Michael.
That Jeep Gladiator is an exact miniature of my red Rubicon. Nice!
Pretty cool truck. I had a ‘21 Mojave in Nacho. Sold it last Spring and went back to Toyota😢. I missed my 4Runners and more practical for me.
Awesome run session, and thanks for the container car info!
Any time John. Am glad you enjoyed the video.
Good job Don, I always enjoy watching modern freight.
You and me both! Thanks Joe. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Top shelf video as always! The shot of the train crossing the bridge at the dog leg is a favorite. Question came up over here. With the physical amount of track you have is track cleaning a scheduled maintenance or more of a as needed? And what are you using when it’s time to get after it? Keep the videos coming, we appreciate your time and effort! Thanks and Best regards. Keith/Hou, Tx.
Hello Keith. I am glad you enjoyed the video. When I built the layout, I made sure to include that bridge feature. It is also one of my favorite locations to film. Track cleaning. Usually, every two weeks, I run (2) track cleaning cars around the layout. These are "dry" and use a Scotch Brite pad to clean the rails. Occasionally, I will use a wet cleaning product. I have tried the ones made for model railroads, they do a good job but a little pricey. What I use is "odorless" Mineral Spirits. I dampen (not soak) a piece of old t shirt and rubber band it to the pad of the track cleaning car and run it around. Maybe two times a year. Truth be told, in the 4 years my layout has been operational, using the cleaning cars with the Scotch Brite pads works the best. I never have any issues with locomotives and dirty track. I hope that helps. Thanks for your comment!
Today your beard is looking mighty fine. Mighty, mighty, fine. Regarding the trains, the Gundersons are my favorite with those end bulkheads.
Thanks Stu for the compliment. I am thinking you should start one too! A real chick magnet. Thanks for watching the video. I agree, I also like the end bulkhead well cars. See you at York.
Hi Don, great video as always. The reason Lionel calls it a Dash 9 is because that's what the model is. Lionel doesn't have tooling for the AC4400 so they used their Dash 9 tooling which is fairly close. The main differences are the trucks and that the AC4400 should have an inverter cabinet behind the conductors side of the cab.
I enjoyed the video .
Thanks Ray for watching.
Thank you Don, I always look forward to your awesome videos. Love the "well cars".
Glad you like them! Me too Roger! Thanks for watching.
Love those stack trains 👍, beautiful locomotives awesome shots of layout you have some great trains excellent job on video 👍
Thank you very much! I always appreciate your positive comments. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Hi Don. Another great video. Would you ever do a video sharing your track plan and walking through how it all flows?
Hello Keith. Yes, that is a good idea. My problem is I shoot all my layout video with a tripod and usually some extra studio lights for the dark areas. I could do it walking around with my iPhone but the quality would not be the same. However, it is a good idea and one I will consider. Thanks.
Very nice! I like the selection of locomotives. It looks like and ex-Conrail 80 MAC, leading one of the trains. I always liked running the stack trains. They were nice and smooth, without much slack You don't see as many of the Gunderson's as you do the Husky"s, as well as some others, out on the mainline. An excellent video, as always.
As always John, thanks for your comment and insight. Always appreciated! I promised no more Husky's in 2024. I do have a few more, I could have made another video of them. Time for something new and a little different. I have a lot of Atlas Frontrunners. They may be next.
@@DonaldKeiser1981 Cool. Those Frontrunners were pretty nice cars. Your videos are always interesting and just plain great. Hopefully, I'll see you at York, in October. As usual, be safe.
Amazing intermodal cars Donald. Seen the Menards intermodal cars?
Thank you Hunter for the post. Yes I have. My only complaint, they are just too light to run in a longer consist. The detail is pretty good but all the plastic makes them suspectable to derailments.
