Far better vocals, but the atmosphere in the Burzum version is better
Stian Kvåle I agree with that assessment overall. It’s a great cover but what worked so well with burzum is that you felt the emotion in the raw vocals. I think Hoest has better technique and stronger vocals but this song doesn’t sound sad or desperate it just sounds badass but the original had that feeling

Suzumiya Haruhi I feel like the original was raw as hell and though I’d agree that Hoest is a much better vocalist as far as technique goes, you definitely feel the emotion in Varg’s delivery, Burzum’s version sounds sad, this version just sounds badass
