Mallee fowls are throughout the mallee area south of the middle back range and not confind to secret rock. I've been all over that area. I've even seen Western whipbirds as well without any fence. The fence is to keep people out.

So a failure by government to manage national parks means they are full of weeds and are the starting point for catastrophic bushfires as well as a haven for feral animals that kill our stock and our native animals. Then a fencing company comes along and can't see itself making money if the government releases the necessary viruses to wipe out the ferals. But it can make money with exclusion fencing and if that leads to the death of migratory native animals that is just too bad is it. Makes me wonder if fencing compnies want to solve the feral problem or they want to exploit it to sell more fences.

Australia needs to GET RID of all the non native species which we have allowed to invade the country. Yes, it would cost a mint, but in the long term would allow our native species and agricultural land to provide better returns. Think dogs, rabbits, camels, Indian Myna, cane toads etc. Get those on benefits off their butts to do something for a change.
