We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere and that they should be given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Our attitude follows a simple philosophy, We must be curious about everything and we must act on this curiosity! This lifestyle allows us think freely and work around conventional barriers as we openly ask questions that challenge the status quo and peaks the curiosity of those around us to fuel excitement in the global marketplace

Curien Hub 2_2 Alpha Overview for release
Appreciate the video bro. Love my N2
I've had my Curien N2 for about a year and I love it!!! Please keep making informative videos. Could most of these tests be applied to Heavy Diesel trucks which have three or four 12v batteries?
Sweet
Looks like my old Mooshimeter hooked up to your phone via bluetooth for volts amps and power calculation and graphing.
Is there a way to switch off the auto shut down function, even if it was in the eeprom or another IC?
320 for the kit
This is the mooshimeter that came out like 10 years ago. Just the company does not offer the current app for newer Android operating system. The mooshimeter sells for like $139 with the same accessories on Amazon . Wonder if the software runs on both?

Hey John, not the same unit. James the creator of Mooshimeter works with us. He helped us make the N2. They will not run the same software and have hardware differences.

I am just seeing your product. A couple of questions! First, on your graphing capabilities. Can you graph a long term parasite draw? For instance if the can bus has some module that will not turn off, can your system graph a several hour graph one can come back to later to see just when something turned off or not? Second, does your system have a way to load the circuit to see why there is resistance in a circuit? Like green crusties in a connector? Thanks, Tom
I’m really interested in this, I’d like to know does it do battery testing as well?
Confusing
What are the acceptable results for both tests?
In the description of the video it shows that the N2 System is looking for voltage drops of 500 mV or lower. 200 mv and lower is optimal, however 500mV is acceptable
@@Curienllc Brilliant thankyou, I'm looking to source one of these units, I work on heavy plant in the UK but they're abit sparse to find & can be expensive I love the graphical multimeter part
@@bb6075 Understood. we do have International shipping. you can use code save25 to save 25% store wide on our website
@@Curienllc thats very kind thankyou, i'll take a look!
@@Curienllc just purchased one from your site, thanks again can't wait to use it
Hi Josh, what about if it was an intermittent draw. For example, a motor that is stuck and comes on over a period of time. Can the tool monitor it over a period of time?
The Neuron can monitor via logging to an SD card (not included) for up to 6 months (no auto shut off)
@@joshcarton understood. Just got my hands on the N2. Wanna try it. Probably use a shunt resistor with it to see how it works.
@@joshcarton so, does it show the time and voltage of the parasitic draw? Does it have a graphic display of this as the voltage rises and falls? Thanks, Tom
@@Okie-Tom yes it does
@@Okie-Tom honestly these videos need to be remade as they are of the original software

THIS IS GREAT , CAN'T WAIT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS THANKS !!!
of course! stay tuned for more updates!
DO YOU THINK FIFTEEN SECONDS IS A BIT TO LONG ,,, FOR A BATTERY CRANKING TEST ,, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ???
15 seconds definitely will draw down the battery and surface voltage, but it should be just enough to determine if a battery can handle the load. A 10 second crank will work as well, but you will notice a good vs bad battery right away, the voltage will not stay high enough for more than a second or 2 on a bad battery
how do you turn it on? When I put the batteries in it showed up in the app for connection and then went to get some things to measure, now it says No Devices Found. I figured maybe you had to put in the leads to turn it on, but that didn't work.
Hey Don, just acknowledging this post. We did talk on the tech support line and got you squared away with the app update.
How much is this? Looks somewhat useful being wireless to. Can you use it on iPhone?
Yes, ios and android! You can find it here: www.curienllc.com/shop
I'm going to buy one in a day or so.. I really like the idea of this tool. I can see several usage for the product as it is . I will be putting this through many unconventional test. I understand this tool is geared toward automotive industries. I would really like to work with the company on product development with a tool like this.. i think gearing this towards science and hobbyist would tap into a whole new market. Not to mention if this could be beefed up for industrial use, a tool like this could corner the market. I'm especially interested in RF with the corlation of Ac. Would love to see a good RF generator setup on this. I know it can do waveform. That not exactly what I mean by RF generator.
Thank you for the comment @KingDavidTheFirst we are open to you reaching out and working with us on making this more suitable for testing in your space. Reach out to us at support@curienllc.com and we can see what we can do together!
i just bought one of these. mine does NOT go to the 5th decimal. mine goes to the 3rd. it has a maximum of 4ms refresh on 32 samples (32 hz), or like 64ms at 256hz. this is CRAZY slow.... am i missing something? it also disconnects and seems to have a limited range - 4 ft or so from the module? and i have also seen very slow updates on the graph
Thanks for the comment! To accurately describe this, the sample window is 4ms with a maximum of 8000hz this is a graphing meter not an oscilloscope. Also this video is very old and we are working on an updated version with all the new features explaining it better. We look forward to any suggestions you may have for that as well
having a video capture on that tablet so you could either super impose or add an over lay tot he video so we can actually see whats happening on the screen. would make a better demo video
Great feedback! Thanks for the ideas!
I had a vehicle this week I was trying to watch cam and crank signals. The scope we have is too large to leave in car and test drive. How long will the N2 data log? And would it need to be connected to tablet to data log, in other words can you leave N2 on car and every time it starts the scope is logging data?
6 months with a properly formatted sd card (32gb sdhc)
Ok that's fine. I'm glad someone is developing the Android app. The N2 is still in development. In some ways I prefer the Mushimeter over the N2. What happened to James? Is he involved in any way. Again, thanks for the UA-cam. It could have been a little more polished. It's like me trying to demonstrate it to a new person, everything doesn't always go as planned. How many takes did you do before this one? Keep up the good work.rich
Rich, we appreciate your comments and input! To be honest the N2 is always going to be growing and improving, so it is totally fair to say its always in development, but this is by design! As for the polish of the video, this is intentionally an unboxing style overview for the alpha. By releasing an alpha update to the 2_2 update we are bringing everyone into the fold. So no takes, just a video done as a live, then uploaded to UA-cam for continued viewing, no editing. If you do end up having anything to suggest please don’t hesitate to email us, we’d love to hear how we can help improve your experience! Have a great rest of your weekend!
@@Curienllc About a year ago I somehow got invited to be a member of a focus group around a team of engineers at Fluke. At the time I told them to take a look at the Mushimeter and make something like that. I'm not sure if they actually did that but I do still talk to them and I get rewards for doing that. I don't mind giving feedback. I love it when things click and new things come to light. I wish you well in developing better instruments. Lord knows it isn't easy. Regards
Where is the Data intelligence menu? Does it require an update, I have version 2.1.9
@Doug, the menu is just below the bottom channel. If you haven’t accessed it before it may be the button is labeled “real power”
Doug, the batter tests will be available by years end.
I just order N2 yesterday. Let’s see
I got my n2 today and I’m suprised to see no windows ? This can’t be can it?
Hey! Thank you for the comment! At the moment we had to pull the windows app. When it is updated we will re-release it!
@@Curienllc that’s a bummer, I don’t own any droid and my iPhone is small
Welding Junkie If it’s any consolation for the meanwhile until the windows app is out you can have it work with any amazon android tablet like one of their fire tablets
I ordered one recently can’t wait to get it l. Looking forward to seeing what it can do
Fantastic! Let us know if you have any questions! We’re here to help you out!
Just had a convo with local Cornell guy about this and he said I’m not going to try to sell u on this one. watch the video and let me know. Well, I know what I’ll be buying tomorrow.
Mario! Glad to hear this. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything you need!
Signal is not great and the speed is too slow for sensor reading. It was a joke when checking cam sensors on my 08 Accord. Verus pro is the most portable you can get even when it is over 10 years old.
Hey thanks so much for your comment! 1st off the Verus is a great oscilloscope and data resource! For your application the N2 definitely has some speed limitations compared to an oscilloscope because it is actually a graphing meter, however that being said you can increase the speed at which it “sees the waveforms” to a timebase where each plotted data point is 3ms apart, (8000hz sample rate & 256 smpl buffer depth) on the manual settings. Definitely in the “auto” sample mode it would be too slow. For most signals on the vehicles this is just right, but definitely it can benefit from greater speeds in future iterations. Just keep in mind it is not a full scope, those typically will sample 1 million x -10 million x a second, whereas the n2 will measure 8000 x per second. There are just times you need a scope. If you are looking for one I am More than happy to point you in a good direction! Definitely Pico is a great direction!
@@Curienllc I have the pico 4425a but wanted something more portable, I also realized this is actually a one channel scope and the other is for small voltage sensors. Maybe a regular tech may benefit from this one due to its portability, I really had high hopes for this one and I wish that you can develop something better for the automotive industry techs where sensor drop out is critical. Also, do I have to record the data (to use a micros card) so that the real time graph shows a better resolution? I used the highest sample rate in manual and I didn't notice much of a difference.
scientist100 im not sure if a “smaller voltage “ description is quite right, . However your feedback on speed for these types of application is appreciated. We are definitely working on something more along these lines for later versions and products. The N2 will work for most of what the Technicians need outside of Scope speed data :-) such as sensor drop outs where having readings in 1 microsecond increments is key, at the moment, n2 has data readings at 3ms increments. Honestly feedback like yours is taken seriously and we are working on another project for this as well as taking app feedback and updating the app constantly, so we want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to help share these thoughts!
actually uScope is most portable scope to market
Any plan to reduce the N2 price?
The price is $299 USD and an amazing value at that price. we encourage you to check out the curiosity Academy where you can learn more about how this will help you in your journey of Automotive repair: community.curienllc.com/group/curiosity-academy
Can it's work as oscilloscope? How can I take advantage to test sensors? Or checking the timing? Where to get the electric circuit map you used in this video ? Can find in pdf?
Yes, the N2 has the ability to provide scope like readings (non averaged readings) providing the ability to see waveforms and pwm circuits. Yes you can test sensors and computer outputs. The N2 is not currently able to test CAN Network but will work with most sensors and circuits on the vehicle.
@Curien curiosity Engaged ok, I saw it on the mack truck and based on the box. It was a o scope. I'll probably be returning it to him as I already have a graphing meeter. What I would love to see is the ability to read waveforms with a high update rate. I built a cheap little oscope for about $12 off AliExpress. Having something polished and multi-channel that would also have the functions that this does would be awesome
Just bought this @ cornwell 👍
fantastic! we look forward to seeing you in the community!
I see cornwell tools website has it up now 👍
Yes, you can purchase it from your cornwell dealer
Please post a video showing how to adjust time base
M. Mooverssr thanks for the comment! This is just a brief overview video. You can see more details here: community.curienllc.com/post/watch-how-to-acquire-waveforms-using-your-n2-neuron-in-buffer-mode-within-g--5f8621c886fcf4389cbcb577 Also please note in the graphing, when you do manual ranging you can pinch zoom in and out of the graphing to change your time base in view
Looks great! Need more details about the logging feature. This would be an absolute killer tool for help diagnosing intermittent faults, if it could be set to log remotely over the course of a few days. Instead of wasting time trying to reproduce a concern, hook it up and send the client on their way until the issue recurs.
Nathaniel Powell thanks for the comment! As per our emails, it does do this, you just need to install an SD card and you’re good to go!
