I’ve returned to this “place” once again. I’ll try to keep this as concise as possible, but I’ll be led by the “north star.” Keira, your voice… it just works, man. I don’t know the technical terms to explain why, but what I do know is that I feel something when I listen to music. And I feel this. Specifically, when you sing, “I stay up every night, two hands clasped together, praying it gets easier,” there’s this powerful dichotomy-part of me wants to bawl my eyes out because of how you sing it, but another part of me makes that stank face because of the same delivery. It’s raw, real, and human. When I left my last comment two months ago, I said I’d let you know what works and what doesn’t. Well, this works. You also mentioned you do simple riffs. I’d still like to see you take the time to explore more with this instrument. Why? You belong to that rare group that lets the guitar guide their voice, like José González. Listen to his song “Teardrop” to see what I mean. What a beautiful piece of music you’ve created, paired with such a comforting voice. I’m glad to be back in this “place”. (P.S on my first listen I was screaming she needs to do “Simulation Swarm” by Big Thief. The lead singer is in the same group as you that I mentioned earlier. Anyhow thank you for this Keira)
