I am not a sewer per se, and I found your video and thought it was really interesting. I’ve been wanting to make some placemats that are just using scrap fabric and I love this idea, but what I want to know is, is the muslin the only backing or do you get another piece of fabric and back the whole thing together? And also, how do you finish off the edges? Do you bind them?

These would be adorable for a skirt, sleeping bag, bath mats, totes, seat covers, and the list goes on and on. How clever and I'm blessed you showed this technique. Faster and more scrappy then flip and sew. I like the center out method that would stop any tucks. Way to go, Thanks for teaching this... Babs near Tombstone
