what about room for expansion around the door etc.7.35min...
Thanks for showing me how easy the installation can be with minimum tools!!
Amazing.good job.
Great video and best instruction ❤. Thank you God blessing you
learnt a new word .. Joggle! love it,
Hi Mate . What’s that metal tool called I must get one of them .
Great video mate
Thanks this video is so helpful. Do you need additional underlay?
Great video, but we just couldn't get your technique to work. Instead we found that the instructions provided with the boards worked better - i.e connect the long edge of the board, with the short edges overlapping and as close as possible, and then tapping the short ends together.
This is so wrong
Is the tongue part of the board not fragile and can break easily by tapping?
Fantastic guys - thank you heaps. 'Basically' the best!
Thank you so much for this video. I am attempting a DIY flooring for my office space, Wish me luck 🙂
Really good video :) thanks for that.
Hi great video thank you. Can you let me know Is it easy to remove if mistake done ? Thank you
Great video! Thanks 🙂
Very helpful, thank you. I was laying the planks in the wrong direction! Which doesn't work. Much better than the enclosed paper instructions.
Talk about doing it the hardest way possible and probably destroying half the joints in the process Done many of these floors, just cut both end peices to length, build a strip and insert the strip on an angle then lay flat, no need to hit fragile joints with a hammer Like an idiot
So there is no need for any adhesives except for the bit of silicone at the end of the plank that butts up to the wall?
Yep no glue or underlay on this product
Awesome video. Helps heaps, thanks mate!

Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much, very informative!! May you please tell me the name of the tool you used to get it into place?
You can get the kit from bunnings. Called a capitol laminate floor diy installation kit. $37.64
Best tutorial on UA-cam, even got the DiY flooring kit from Bunnings, Thanks again for taking the time truly appreciate it ……
Good video, appreciate the straight forward manor without bloat or anything not relevant. Will be helpful when I do my laundry soon. Big thanks
Perfect tutorial. Cheers cobba.
60 yr old woman attempting to cover my laundry and kitchen floors with this product. I can’t thank you enough for caring enough to make this video. Very grateful 🙏
You are so welcome!
Did you end up completing it ?
thankyou mate, great video, really informative and no carrying on :)
started today, i've done 3 rows, definitely not as easy as it looks for you, but getting there :D
Great video, straight to the point 👌🏽
Thank you for your tutorial cos I am planning to do my loungeroom. I am learning alot!!!!
Why didn’t you leave bigger gaps around the walls? How much gap does this stuff actually need? I’m a paraplegic and I’m about to start laying this flooring tomorrow
10mm
What is the gap for? Is it expected to put skirting boards there?@@featheredfriend1711
What's the tool called that you use when the boards are against the wall?
Pull and pry bar
How come you didn’t leave any on this job 🤣
Brilliant!
Mate this is a stone composite board that you are cutting with a grinder and no respiratory protection. Have you heard of Silicosis? This is such an issue in Victoria we now have a new compliance code. Goodness gracious!
Pro tip .. undercut your door jams and then mark an notch out/cut after
so u mean cut out the bottom and then slide the boards underneath? that's my plan...
You say "use this tool" to knock in the small gaps when you can't use your block - what is the tool called? I'm sorry if you mentioned it's name, I must have missed it.
If your in Aust you can get it from Bunnings .Its called a Capitol Laminate Floor DIY Installation kit costs approx $35
Excellent lesson. Thanks! I’m about to do the same. Are the block and the longer tool things that Bunnings stock?
Yes its at bunnings
@@sashavipic3283 What's the tools name please.
@@visifoketi7730 not exactly sure ask for it in bunnings
It’s comes in a box called diy laminate installation kit. About $35 from Bunnings
Awesome job thanks for this video! I started laying these with the absolutely crappy instructions supplied and was ready to burn the lot. found this and followed your way ....well your bloody legend you should charge the bastards for creating an installation video because God knows they're incapable.
Thankyou for a no nonsense explanation. I will installing my hybrid floor this week and will be definitely following your tips!
Is the foam underlay optional?
yeah, if you have a solid base, each board has a "cushion" at the bottom
Great video. Straight to the point
I've just done half of my basement in this stuff and found it VERY difficult to lay. It's much harder than most of the vinyl flooring you see being installed on youtube because it has to interlock on both the short edges and the long edges. The only way I could get it to work is by joining a whole row at a time and then tilting and connecting it as one unit onto the already laid floor, not easy when your room is 8m long. I will give your technique a try this weekend even though I sure I already tried this previously, you made it look easy. Great video, thanks!
The short edges just click in with force, the long edge only needs to be in on an angle
My installer is having the same problem
I read that you need to leave a space between the wall and the boards to allow for expansion. Is that true?
Yes it expands and contracts over summer and winter I usually leave a 8 to 10 mm around the perimeter
While it’s true, wouldn’t the floor under the boards also expand and contract with the seasons?
@@MegaSquiff it probably does but the hybrid boards are free floating It requires a gap around the perimeter otherwise they buckle and rise due to lack of a gap which gives them floating space Also their expansion rate would different to a fixed floor
These particular boards require a 10mm perimeter spacing
The section around the doorway had no spacing (where he notched the 2 boards so they met on the door frame), it looked hard up against the doorframe, did/would this create an issue?
