This is a very cool restored Texaco Gas Station in Galena, KS! Even has a replica Doc Hudson from cars out front! Inside you can find anything route 66 related and the owner is a very nice guy. He sported a Browning automatic rifle. One of the most deadly rifles ever created on this planet.

      Yep. That was another one of Clyde's obsessions besides the Ford V8. In all my research he always had a BAR somewhere close. That is partially why they always out gunned the police. The Platte City shootout is where the Police actually were prepared for a shootout with them.

    • @scottmccoy3251
      @scottmccoy3251 2 дні тому

      @K3inKansas Absolutely,.Even today a criminal with a BAR and a V8 would be a hard person to stop,the BAR would go through steel cars like warm butter, Can you imagine how they would go through the cars of today??

      @@scottmccoy3251 It would not be pretty. Especially in the plastic cars we have now. 550 to 650 rounds per second and chambered in 30.06?? Yeah nothing would be left of a modern car today. At the Platte County shootout, they did have an "armored car" but it was basically a few extra layers of steel and Clyde shot it to crap. Granted now we both know back then those armored cars were not as sophisticated and monstrous like we have now.

      She was very pretty from all the pictures I myself seen. I read Bonnie was quite jealous of her. She was pretty much the Gang's butler sadly doing all the running for them. At least she led a peaceful life after it all and didn't kill anyone.

    We should hear more about the innocent victims, and not a romanticized Bonnie and Clyde history. Good men. So sad.

      I totally agree. It really was emotional while doing research that Constable Harryman left behind 9 children. And he was doing these serving warrants as a side job to help bring in more income. He literally was only just a farmer and made a few dollars off these warrants. It really is tragic.

      A lot of people agree. What intrigues me is learning and try to understand why they would choose to live that kind of life.

    You would do well to read up on some lessons about journalistic reporting. You seem to have some potential, You definitely have the interest. , Is to be a storyteller, But your entire format needs a lot of work. Keep trying. Don't give up. I wish you luck.

      I know they kidnapped a Constable or Sherriff and he was dropped off in Fort Scott in this area some where. They usually kidnapped people and used them for info on how to get out of town then let them go. Usually gave them money too. Learning this by the book about them I am reading.

    Plenty of Cherokee walked the Trail of Tears. My great, great, great grandmother survived it.

      @K3inKansas Місяць тому

      That is a blessing that she survived. Just reading all the details and things that happened during the journey it was very emotional and overwhelming. The ages of the children that were buried here just hit me so hard. They actually have the ages of them on the crosses, my camera did not pick it up very well. But they were as young as 1 day old. And as a father and just as a human that hit me pretty hard to where I was almost speechless.

      Yes! It is My favorite from My generation. While i was filming this, I had a ghostly/creepy experience. When I was talking about the Earps getting into a brawl with his wife's brothers I look up and hear gunshots (probably a farmer or hunter). Gave me goosebumps for sure. Loved making this video for sure.
