Nichushkin: Health issues / incident in Seattle / AVS Training Facility I Episode 1
In this episode we visit the NHL club - Colorado Avalanche, and specifically our Russian guy, Valeri Nichushkin. He's one of the most controversial and colorful players of our time hailing from Chelyabinsk, where he took his first steps in his hockey career.
Nichushkin isn't even 30 years old yet, but his career is laced with many stories, some of which are so bizarre that they are beginning to be forgotten.
Starting his professional career in the KHL as a player of Tractor, Valeri quickly caught the attention of NHL scouts. In 2013, he was drafted by the Dallas Stars, where he spent several seasons. However, in 2019, Nichushkin faced a goal drought of 91 games, criticism in his direction, and disagreements with head coach Lindy Ruff. After leaving for Russia and later returning to the NHL, Valeri got the second chance in NHL and signed a new contract with the Colorado Avalanche, where he proved to everyone that he was ready to play. Already from the first games it became clear that Big Val will become a key player of the team, he made a big contribution to the team winning the Stanley Cup and bring it to Denver in 2022.
